Despite anyone's beliefs about the manager, the insights, from 25 minutes in (or so), on the behind doors stuff is interesting.

Listened to a few minutes and the situation has been compared to the Mike Ashley days by that gadgie with the long hair. Nowt like a bit of OTT

I thought the exact same thing. Started at around 25 mins as advised above and switched it off soon as that wet wipe started banging on about comparisons with the Ashley era.

That channel was always massively biased towards Langley. Getting interviews often with her and the players, probably a reason why. The main (Lee I think) one on the channel, actually had tears in his eyes when he first reported her sacking.

Just because you go to the vast majority of games, doesn't mean your opinion counts. If they can't see the reasons why she was sacked, then they obviously don't know much about football.  As for it being like the Ashley years, if he was still here, she would still be manager for a start and managing a club in the fourth division.

Forgot about that - the same channel tweeted that they were “far from happy about Langley being sacked”

Whoppers.

Whomever is in charge of recruitment is in a spot of bother.

Maybe why Langley was sacked?

Surely we should have just gone to the press to say we want those players but are waiting for encouragement from that club.

We did but Lee Ryder's Mam wouldn't change the batteries in his VTech laptop so he didn't know what to do

I think it's quite obvious it wasn't only results for the reason why she was pushed. I thought it maybe due to the club agreeing with a new coach to come straight in, but that hasn't happened. I noticed she still has NUFC manager on her social media, which I'm surprised the club haven't asked her to take down.

feels like they're just writing this season off!

You get the distinct impression that interest in the women's team at senior levels has waned some  and now it's a lot of mercenaries and journeywomen who haven't really been performing rather than the likeable mostly local lasses that it was, they're in a bit of an awkward position I reckon

“Ross will be responsible for sporting strategy, development and recruitment across men's, women's and Academy teams, working closely with the club's football leadership and executive teams”

It’s another area that has greatly suffered because of the Ashworth/Mitchell nonsense. We’ll get nowhere with the Women’s and youth teams without consistently/competency in the main jobs.

They are investing £5.2 million into a new training ground. The reason for the signings was down to Langley.

Aye, I get that, I just don't feel that the enthusiasm from the top is what it was

Most of it was Amanda Staveley to be fair, she seemed to be there at Kingston Park more often than not. I guess with her gone it was bound to feel different.

Langley statement on her departure

Quote

“I would like to thank the senior management team for giving me the opportunity to manage Newcastle United Women’s Football Club over the past six years. The experiences and memories will stay with me for a lifetime.

“A major summer of recruitment, along with significant facility improvements, brought many transitions to navigate. We put in considerable effort to build on last season’s excellent fifth-place finish, but early results this season did not reflect the quality of our performances. It will take time for the players and staff to fully bond and settle within this new team environment, and I am confident that results will improve as the season goes on.

“My thanks go out to the dedicated and talented staff and players within the squad, especially the senior players who have been invaluable allies. Amanda Staveley, Su Cumming and the new ownership group have played a key role in advancing the women’s teams, and I will always be grateful for their contribution to the growth of the game in the North East.

“My connection with the fans fills me with pride, and sharing this journey has been a true privilege. I am honoured to have played a part in the team’s development and history. This football club will always hold a special place in my heart.

“I wish the club nothing but continued success in the years ahead."

Becky
