Guest
Livramento worth a look at? Chance to ease him in next season as cover to Trippier and work up his match fitness.

So I'm not the only one that keep forgetting Ashby?
80
Was talking with a savvy West Ham fan the other day who thinks Ashby is England's next Right Back... They all seem to rave about him to be fair.
cubaricho
Hopefully a full preseason with the lads gets Ashby into the squad and learning daily from wor Kieran.

I think he can still play for England since he's only represented Scotland through the U21s, but has he given any indication he would want to play for England? No idea but I'd be surprised if England wasn't what he wanted judging by his accent and birthplace. The guy I was talking to might be getting ahead of himself to be fair, but it's surprising how unanimous West Ham supporters have been about his quality given how little he's played etc. Everyone down on Moyes and the club about him going. Gallowgate Toon
Levi Colwill seems a great fit for what we want at the back but can't see Chelsea dealing with us at all.
The Butcher
Left footed CB. Nah.
jackflap
Not sure how realistic but Wirtz would be the ideal target to go all out for IMO. Just got round the seeing clips of him and looks like he could be the outstanding technical player of his generation. Given Leverkusen won't be making CL he may be available. Usually Munich would be the likely destination but they've Musiala who's very similar. If we get CL we'd be a step up for him and he's still young enough that he could do 4/5 yrs and then have the option of moving to an elite club if we're not there by then. Both his father/agent, and himself have said that he wants stay at least another year. Guess it depends if Leverkusen want or need to sell him, and also if Alonso stays or not. Contracted until 2027 so he’d go for a decent sum.
The Prophet
It sounds like Leverkusen are more likely to cash in on Diaby, rather than Wirtz at this moment in time.

joeyt
He'd break our wage structure but would Cancelo be realistic if we got Champions League?

RB is the last position we’re breaking our wage structure for any time soon.
joeyt
He's 29 at the end of the month but could we not play him as a left back? He was great there for City Doesn't strike me as someone we'd target Edited May 11, 2023 by joeyt
Manxst
Great player but character would have question marks to me, ie. whether he would fit in with the squad. He’s openly admitted to being a loner and not being part of things at Man City.
The Butcher
Trippier's 33 in a few months. Can see us signing a new purple RB next summer, but I don't think that'll be Cancelo.
TheInfiniteOdyssey
I can see Cancelo back at Benfica this summer when Grimaldo leaves on a free.

I think City are going to have come to an agreement on wages with any club that wants Cancelo ultimately. I can’t think of a club that could afford those wages outright and / or need him. Spurs maybe, at a guess.
Disco
Cancelo is famously bad craic if he's not getting his own way. That and he's peaked would be an absolute no go for us.
bowlingcrofty
Spurs apparently may not be taking up their option on Kulusevski. Seems an odd one but for €35m he’d be a decent option.
