Taking the 100% moneyball approach rather than our failing prem-proven approach, I've been scouring websites for youngest folk with the barest recent stats

Don't be daft man. You can say what you like generally but you'll get kick back when it comes to issues like this.

Everyone posts some daft shit at some point. Believe me I know. But don't stop posting. It's an open forum full of daft cunts imo. It's what's so class about it.

That Cresswell kid at Toulouse any good?

I've always liked the look of him when I've seen him either live or on TV for England U21's, but he'd be a risk in terms of whether he'd step up at PL level I think.

He's a classic case of we probably can't take the risk, but might end up at a Palace or Brentford and look half decent to the point where someone else might blow us out the water if we then fancied him anyway

I bet Brighton or the Mackems sign at least one of those

We sign some promising kid, doubt EH plays them. Waste of time and money.

In fact, I would think the surest way for Ross Wilson to make his own position untenable is to pad the squad out with some no mark kids who’s stats suggest some upside.

It's very difficult for us to take risk which is precisely why we needed to be multi club ages ago. You take risks elsewhere and sell yourself the sure things. Talent development requires massive infrastructure these days and we've left that to our former back up goal keeper to sort.

I am joking but we can't really afford to sign £40m+ pre players and risk them falling short. Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal etc can stomach it easily but we can't.

Feels we need to be taking some <£15m punts on promising youngsters and have a proper development programme for them. Unless it's a disaster you generally can make your money back, or at least not lose too much.

It's quite weird we give really important jobs to random people like Harper and Shola and similar.

Absolutely love a post like this

Tzolis has looked class in the Champions League when I've seen him. I thought he was older than 23 as I remember his name for Norwich a few seasons ago

We don't have a failing prem approach, we have a mixed approach where people fixate on Elanga.

                        Stack

Hakimi     Bramble.   Semedo.   Mendy

              Partey.        Sigurdsson

Greenwood.                         Johnson

                        Robinho

                        Evans.

In their prime they could really assault the premier league

Ramsey, Wissa, Elanga, Gordon, Barnes, Pope, Karius, Ritchie, Burn, Targett, Wood, Trippier, Ashby and more were all signed presumably due to prem/english experience. A couple worked of course but you can see it's not great value most of the time (excl. the freebies)

It's quite clearly our transfer strategy for the most part, for better or worse, not just about Elanga.

Have they all failed? Have you counted the non-PL signings in that time?
