Unless he wants out of course. Harry Kane and Eric Dier's families being over there eliminate any homesick feelings for his missus. Imagine if it again is simply family related? Let’s say the ‘playing away’ was all bollocks and his wife/him feel so unsettled by the burglary (maybe even the abuse from the crowd? Though seems a bigger stretch) and he’s agreed to move, perhaps to join families she/they get on with?
andyc35i
I’m not worried as I just don’t see it happening. Bayern won’t pay more than £10m for him and we won’t be selling him for less than that
Guest
How much could this just be the German press knowing Bayern want him, he's mates with Kane and Dier and just assuming he'd go? They're probably not used to them being knocked back by a player or club. We saw the way the Italian press went on when we were linked with Botman along with Milan that they just assumed he'd end up over there.
wormy
Well further to my previous posts if we squeezed £25m out of them then I'd accept we've made the best of a shit situation.
lovejoy
If we can get £15m for him and that allows us to bring a midfielder in this window, it's good business tbf.
Ameritoon
It's annoying that football is structured so that selling him now actually makes some sense. Really glad we're standing firm, shouldn't be bullied by a club like Bayern.

Is the burglary at his home not a personal issue as and of itself? It could certainly warrant him wanting to leave if his family don't feel safe in the area. There could also be other issues going on behind the scenes that involve neither of these things. There's clearly something up with him. He was knackered doesn’t mean there’s anything up with him. He’s 33 and played 10 games in 30 days playing 90 mins for most if not all of them.

Dokko
£25m or Kimmich in return and I'll swim him there on my back whilst he's shagging my lass. Next up, £5m for Matt Ritchie to KSA, best get me arm bands on.
Scoot
If we can get 25 million for him, then it'd be madness to reject that for a 33 year old. Anything above 16 or 17 million would be a good deal to be honest.

Bayern are a massive and extremely difficult club for a player to reject, the only saving grace is that Trippier has previously been abroad and returned due to home sickness. STM
Reckon we will get 20m, and it will be a cracking deal for us. We might even go and get 2 players.

Our entire attack is structured through Trippier's overlaps. We could deal with that in the summer, and would obviously have to deal with it eventually anyway, but with the finances as they are, and other positions being a priority, it's hard to see how you replace those assists between now and the end of the season. Superior Acuña
If he stays and his poor form continues, these reports of him wanting the move aren’t going to help his relationship with (some of) the fans
Barnes23
I think his period of poor form is already over most likely, I think it was mostly fatigue due to sheer volume of games as with most of the others Unless there really is something going on away from the field Edited January 20, 2024 by Barnes23
