let tonali have a go at the set pieces, man.

I said this during the game, I think it was when he ballooned one out for a goal kick in the first half. It was rancid. Massive fan of mixing it up, at the moment we're heading towards meme territory with the floated set penises.

I thought after the cup final we might sometimes get Burn to try and score instead of always going for the back post Mike Williamson special.

For big games I've just been happy to have his nous and leadership out there, he's as good as I've seen for that.

But he's been brilliant since getting regular games. Wonder if the Hall/Tino games in his stead that's brought this form about.

I think he's been markedly better since he can quarterback the team rather than solely remote-control Almiron in front of him, he's steadily got better the longer he's played behind Murphy. He doesn't need to run beyond Murphy, because Murphy can do all the attacking legwork himself. He can slot in and let an additional midfielder run in with Murphy instead, like Tonali or Bruno.

Players at the back with the vision and the calmness of Tripps and Schar are worth their weight in gold when they're on form.

This last month or so has just been ecstasy as a Newcastle fan, and Trippier's resurgence and contribution to it all has been one really satisfying aspect. It was painful seeing him falter during the middle part of last season and although his form improved, I didn't expect him to hit these heights again. At one point it looked like his legacy might be tarnished a little bit, but this run of form has ensured he'll go down as the bloody hero he's always been.

I'd completely wrote him off, not that I wanted to, bit saw a man broken, not even touching on him as a player. To see him come back from it is heart warming. Hope it continues to the end of the season and if he still wants to leave, then he can do so on the best of terms in thr form which transformed us on arrival, as well as departure.

Really surprised at how he's roared back in the last few months, his levels have been outstanding.

I think we're having to manage his minutes a bit with Krafth regularly coming on to see out the later stages (with absolutely no fuss whatsoever as usual, love Krafu) but he's really made us not feel the loss of Hall so much with his recent performances.

Really pleased for him.
