mouldy_uk
The interview was a really good listen and I hope they can bag some more people directly associated with the club for future shows. I think the thing that really shone through about Trippier was his attitude and even after the injury he still wants to contribute where he can. I hope he has a long association with the club, on and off the field.
Wilson
I hope nobody calls him K Tripz ever again.
Hovagod
Thought Tripper handled the Bruno stuff well, it was a bit snide and unprofessional of the co-host to act like he was lying about being aware of him. Trippier pointing out that he has played football abroad and in Europe was a nice rejoinder without looking arrogant.
Wilson
Just a bit of craic really isn't it, I saw someone complaining that they called Pickford T-Rex after Trippier had just said they were best mates.... I'm sure he's not that precious about that stuff. I know he was bound to say it, but he said he really enjoyed being on there and it actually looked like it, fair play to him for going on. Main gripe I had was that they talked over each other a couple of times.

Newcastle Fan
He comes across incredibly well in that podcast but a part of me was uncomfortable about a current player being asked all these questions. 54
Quote England internationals Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson are aiming to return for Newcastle United in their potential crucial Premier League games against Crystal Palace and Norwich next month. The return of two of his best players would be a huge boost for manager Eddie Howe who has done brilliantly to keep moving Newcastle clear of the bottom three in their absence. But having gone eight games unbeaten over the course of almost two months, the Magpies have since lost two games on the spin against Chelsea and Everton. They have lacked a serious goal threat in both defeats, despite playing well in other areas, something the return of Trippier, whose set-piece delivery is among the best in Europe, and Wilson would remedy. Trippier broke a bone in his foot against Aston Villa on February 13 but has had the protective boot removed and is now able to put some weight on it. He is still walking with the aid of crutches but medical staff are pleased with the progress he is making. That has raised hopes that the 31 year-old could be running again within the next two weeks and would give him time to prove his match fitness before Newcastle’s home game against Crystal Palace on April 20. If that proves to be too soon for the former Atletico Madrid player, the games against Norwich (April 23) and Liverpool (April 30) will become realistic targets. The Magpies have sorely missed the right-back, who was superb at both ends of the pitch in the five appearances he made for the club following a £12 million move in January. Emil Kafth has done well in his absence but he lacks the same offensive threat on the right flank as Trippier, as well as his leadership and organisational qualities in defence. Wilson is another player Howe has to do without for too long. The former Bournemouth centre-forward is still Newcastle’s leading goalscorer this season with six goals, despite not playing since the draw against Manchester United on December 27. The 30 year-old picked up a painful Achilles problem during that game, the latest in a long list of injuries for the striker, who also missed three months of last season with a muscle tear. But Wilson has begun to run again at Newcastle’s warm-weather training camp in Dubai and will gradually increase his workload over the next week. At the moment, he is only able to jog gently and is not involved in any contact training with his teammates, but once he has regained confidence in his Achilles, he is expected to get up to speed quickly and is also targeting the game against Palace in April. Howe has stressed to his players, as well as supporters, that Newcastle still have lots of work to do this season, despite moving nine points clear of the drop zone with nine games left to play. Realistically, Howe’s side, who have 31 points, need at least two more wins to be confident they will not be dragged back into the relegation battle below them. Meanwhile, Newcastle midfielder Isaac Hayden has been charged by the Football Association for a tweet criticising match officials after the defeat against Chelsea. Hayden, who is currently recovering from knee surgery, has been charged with improper conduct after sending a tweet that said “some performance from the boys against 12 men”. An FA spokesperson said: “Newcastle United’s Isaac Hayden has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3.1 following their Premier League game against Chelsea on Sunday 13 March 2022. “It is alleged that the midfielder’s comments on social media after the game constitute improper conduct as they attack the integrity of the match official and/or are personally offensive and/or bring the game into disrepute.”
Yorkie
Having those two back for the last six games would be a huge boost. Good opportunities against Palace and Norwich, followed by Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal in consecutive games. Then (if things go badly) a potentially crucial game on the last day against Burnley. wormy
I was an advocate for holding them back until next season if not absolutely needed but if they and Howe think they're ready to return for the run in. Wilson and Trippier with no match fitness should still be an improvement on a match fit Wood and Krafth.
