OoOGazOoO
Appreciate some will say 'it's just a social media post', blah blah, but given the friction Isak has caused with fans, the club, etc... it's a bit stupid from Botman, even if they are best mates. Fans, quite rightly so too, are feeling frustrated by how Isak has disrespected pretty much everyone at the club, and then posting this doesn't exactly help with that, and makes Botman look a bit daft. The College Dropout
Thing with Botman, you would only want to give him 1 extra year. With the injuries you would be uncomfortable giving him a fresh 4 years. 3 is fine.

These are called different point of views and kind of the point of this place. People will have different opinions on various matters, id say being able to manage that and respond to the point is emotional maturity but that's just my 2c. It takes me back to a conversation I had with @Heron (who is one of the nicest people on here imo) and we were basically discussing this he explained to me that he took a positive approach and even though I tend to be more pragmatic and attempt to read between the lines and had differing opinions to him he always responds with a great deal of respect. Sorry for the tangent I just wanted to mention, but in terms of practicality we have an ignore function to which anyone is welcome to use.

Wouldn’t be much going on here if everybody agreed all the time. Different views are what makes this place (and indeed any place good). If some take a more negative view that is balanced by the more optimistic posters. It’s good for everybody to read views that don’t align with their own but make them think about other angles. Roids
Some of you guys are acting like teenagers tracking & getting irate about every inconsequential thing their favourite popstar tweets/posts on their socials. Botman liking a message from Isak is such a non-starter.

Do you honestly think these posts like this from you and others are any less relentless and inflammatory? Genuinely, because the way I see it we're all guilty of something that gets on some people's wicks like, no one is exempt at all and the only difference with some posters is self-awareness (or lack of it) Edited September 2, 2025 by Kid Icarus
The Prophet
It's not that deep. It's liking your mate get a new job on social media. The optics aren't the best, but the players won't be looking at it through the same lens as us.

AdoptedGeordieFromPompey
Last season Abu Kamara who was on loan at Pompey in 23/24 had to do a social media apology alongside the Hull manager as he congratulated his mate (playing for Pompey) for scoring his first Championship goal on instagram. Hull fans and management were up in arms basically saying he can't be happy for anyone who doesn't play for Hull. It was pathetic. People are allowed friends inside of football who play for other clubs. Same with Botman here. Optics might not be great but c'mon...

Chicken Dancer
Personally don’t see much problem in him liking a post, but he could have read the room with his actual post like. He’d have seen the clubs statement and how the fans have reacted all summer. Not a wise move but at the end of the day, it is his mate.

We can't predict what he's going to do, I do imagine he will want a rise as he's an established premier League player. I think he won't play too much this season though so justifying it for us will be really tough. That being said, Waugh said Leverkusen asked about him and we're told not for sale so I assume the plan is new deal for him.
