He’s had a good week. Thought his distribution was exceptional all day today. Feels like it’s taken a while to get back to his previous levels with his passing range but thought it was bang on today.

While I thought he had a great game generally, he should have closed down Buendia faster for that first goal.

I think Tonali was most at fault there. Rogers was well covered, and Buendia was his man. He just sacked it off and gave him all the time and space to pick his spot.

No disrespect intended to any of our other defenders (or goalkeepers) but at 100% a Botman Thiaw partnership flanked by Livramento and Hall looks like sufficient quality for a title winning defence; if we can keep them together for the next couple of  seasons. We would ‘just’ need an absolute worldy keeper to complete the picture .

That back 3 do really compliment each other well. Hard to say who was the best. Botman the most polished. Burn the most WARHORSE  Thiaw possibly the best of the bunch, for me. Was always in the right spot.

He's definitely getting back into his rhythm with these successive games lately.

As long as we don't leave him exposed with his pack of pace he's excellent.

Even so he did really well that one moment where he was clearly going to lose that 1v1 race with Hakimi and shifted his position just at the last moment to help hold him up and wait for support.

His class has never been in doubt. Fitness was the issue and he's probably played more minutes than they would have liked him to recently. Now Burn is back hopefully they can manage his minutes a bit more now to keep him fit.

Just now, RobS said:

is he injured aagin?

I think just managing his time.

He has played a lot since coming back so makes sense to rest him especially as he will be working hard to keep Haaland in his pocket again on Wednesday
