Based on that Edwards tweet, and maybe i'm reaching here, but its sounds like its not a major new injury, just maybe some soreness/ inflammation in the joint that kept him out the last few months. Which in the long run may actually be a blessing, as it'll be concerning enough to ensure no risks are taken with him in the last two games, but allow him to recover and rest more over the next 10 weeks before going into next season being much fresher and confident in his body.

Hope so, because we need him as a long term option. Can’t be going into 2026 summer with Schar out of contract, Burn a year older and in the unknown to when the drop off comes and Botman with one year left on his deal and another injury hit season.

Need him to be fit and firing so he gets a deserved new contract.

I'm by no means an expert, but during his rehab a lot of lot of folk who had suffered ACLs were saying to prepare for him picking up minor injuries, particularly in the other knee.

You do have to wonder about how he's been reintegrated into the team after these injuries. His first comeback this season he was thrown straight in to start the game away to Spurs and then played three full 90s in 11 days, then came off injured a week later. This time he was thrown in to start after only playing a total of 9 mins in the previous 2 games and he's broken down again. He hasn't had a gradual build up of minutes and has been chucked into high intensity games

I fully trust the club on this fwiw. Especially now we have Bunce in.

He did the first time for what its worth, he played 4/5 games for the under 23's and a few behind closed doors friendlies.

Anar I'm being harsh and it's obviously not his fault, but it's two seasons he's basically missed now. This can kill careers unfortunately.

I think we might need two CBs in the summer.

Crock status basically hangs on how fit he remains next season. If he’s fucked for most of it then it’ll be game over I imagine and he’ll likely never play full seasons of football

Fair enough, didn't realise that. Still a big jump from under 23s to three full 90s in 11 days against Spurs, Arsenal and Wolves though. Appreciate that centre backs aren't the sort of players you bring on for 20/30mins like midfielders/strikers too

His decision to not get surgery the first time should be studied.

his last injury was his other knee though wasnt it? Who knows what this one is.

Any player out injured for as long as he's been is likely to pick up niggles when returning, especially mid-season.

Saying "he's out for the season through injury" is ridiculous, btw. The season ends in 10 days ffs. At this stage, you could be out for the season through a severe toe stubbing.

Not really knee jerking when you expect one of our defenders to be available for more than a few weeks like.

Ah c’mon man. He was a a good as out for the season and we knew that coming in. Provided this new thing isn’t really major, what Botman needs is a solid preseason and fresh start.

The knee jerking in here is unreal. We don’t even know what the issue is yet! It’s disappointing if he’s out of the next two games but let’s not write off his entire career just yet eh?

I sort of see your point but it’s hardly a one off with this lad is it?

I hope it’s nothing because he’s such a talented player but injuries mount up.

Hopefully nothing major, but it’s only natural to be concerned about the fitness of one of our best  players so there’s no need to make a meal out of it when people get worried/frustrated.  Talk of selling him is just pointless though.

Not really surprising after such a long period out. 2025/26 season always seems the most realistic target for a proper return.

Still though, not having him or Joelinton against Arsenal are massive losses. Sounds like no Willock and Tripper as well? Arse seem to be getting a lot of players back as well ffs.

I would say the people making a meal out of it are those calling him “pretty much a waste of space” but hey. Concern is fine, we’re all concerned!

Such a triggering post for Edwards, he knows what he is doing with language like that. A bit of dick move.

Entirely in keeping with the fact he’s a shrivelled flaccid penis of a human being.
