A timeline where we don’t fuck around and let Isak go to Liverpool and we get Ekitike early and we’re probably fine this season
enthusiast
just think, if we'd got him from reims in 2023 as planned we could've spent the entire summer selling him to liverpool.
The Prophet
Top player, seems a bit of a whopper though. Absolutely no way he wouldn't have overtly used us as a stepping stone.
SteV
Another player who Eddie identified as a player we should try for. But Eddie should be ‘nowhere near transfers’….

Wissa maybe (given Howe tried to keep Wilson for another season come last season’s end) but unsure that Elanga was a backup. He was through the door early, before all the Isak stuff kicked off and we also bid for him in summer 2024. Edited February 3 by HaydnNUFC

I get the impression we wanted Mbeumo and Semenyo above him, but the Mbeumo wanted Man Utd, and the club thought Semenyo would cost £70m+ and didn't think he was worth that (or could afford it). Erikse
Is it really that bad to be used as a stepping stone by the odd player? Isak contributed massively to 2 CL qualifications and the cup trophy. Then when he threw a tantrum we banked twice the transfer fee that we paid. I'd say that's a pretty damn good outcome, even considering that he was a cunt who forced a move in the end. I wonder what we would have achieved if we didn't make that signing out of concern of being used as a stepping stone. The issue is how we wasted all the money that we got for him.. Inu
1 hour ago, SteV said: Another player who Eddie identified as a player we should try for. But Eddie should be ‘nowhere near transfers’…. How do you know it was Eddie? Anyway Eddie should be nowhere near transfer based on the Elenga pursuit. It was such a bad judgement alone that he should be nowhere near transfer under any circumstances. Even if didn’t want him. Just the fact that he didn’t stop the idea of him.
