Superb today as  he has been of late but he needs to be careful about trying to win too many fouls as the one that didn't go his way towards the end could've cost us, same goes for Longstaff.

Aye. Bruno is usually quite good at it. But makes it too obvious at times.

Longstaff wins a lot of fouls, too. But he is so unconvincing and needs to stop in the wrong areas. To the point where for Pope’s double save against Dortmund. He actually did get fouled. But it looked like a massive dive  he was looking over his shoulder wanting the contact. Then seemed to go down like a mortgage.

Yeah, I thought he was brilliant first half and then in the latter part of the second he was quite sloppy, where he was looking for the foul even though there was a passing option available

Overall though he's in really good form, just need him to maintain that after an average start to the season

Key player for us.

Quite, not sure it needs spelling out though. He plays in the most pivotal role in our side and he’s our best player or a top three performer in almost all games (accounting for a dip in form due to his ankle previously)

agreed. Looked really on it first half. Wish he’d stop chucking himself to the ground to buy a cheap free kick, the refs aren’t buying it.

He was finding himself surrounded by players closing him down. In the first half he always found a way out and that set us up for some great plays, in the second half he was getting caught more and then trying to buy a free kick.

Hard to know if that was him tiring or not enough options to pass the ball to someone else. I think he needs others to get closer to him instead of waiting for him to do something clever.

Yea, it is obvious, but now that he has started to play better, we are starting to get a grip of games. Of course we are now playing against easier teams than in the start.

Longstaff is always diving these days.  When he doesn’t know where to go he’ll just fall down.

I think his ability to buy a foul is a real talent, and speaks of his ball control and vision - though I do think you’ll get refs like the one at the weekend who’ll stop blowing for FKs after a while, particularly if they may have made a controversial decision against the other team earlier in the game.  When that starts happening, he needs to knock it on the head and start releasing the ball.

Not quite the simile I was expecting.

This is so frustrating. He tries to buy fouls by shielding and then going to ground. And when he doesn't get the foul, we are often so open on the counter. Just move the ball for fuck sake.

I think he has adopted Bruno’s ‘fold from the waist when you feel someone behind you’ thing. It’s getting irritating; from both of them.
