Time flies with this magnificent man in our colors. He’s played in 168 out of 177 games he could have been selected for and until he was rested vs Bournemouth had played 67 games in a row. He’s the emotional heartbeat of this team.
GeordieDazzler
Also love the fact he’s clearly been learning how to win a coin toss over the summer

I'm sure he's played 95% of the minutes we've played in the league over the last 3 seasons. Does anyone know?
timeEd32
Bruno is #7 on ESPN's top 50 players of the season so far: Quote You can think of the opposition defensive lines this way: The attacking line is the easiest to bypass, but it also carries with it the highest penalty for failure. The defensive line is the hardest to break through, but it also comes with the smallest penalty for failure. The midfield line, meanwhile, is the worst of both worlds: harder to break through than the attacking line, and a much higher downside than a failed pass through the defensive line. Per Gradient's data, only nine players have completed at least 25 passes that broke the opposition midfield line, and only one of them has completed at least 80% of his attempts at breaking the midfield line. That would be Bruno Guimarães, who also leads the league in both passes attempted (20) and passes completed (9) that break the opposition defensive line. He's just a brilliant player who understands the risks and payoffs of the different areas of the field as well as anyone in the league. https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/46785166/premier-league-top-50-ranked-best-players-2025-26-season-liverpool-arsenal-man-united Tonali is way too low but he does say this: As always, this is biased toward players who do things that are quantifiable -- there is a lot that happens on the field that we still can't count, but I'm more likely to be wrong by chasing after them too aggressively -- but it's also not a purely data-based list. Ask Alex Ferguson if he was overrated - he saw Gazza give Robson and co the runaround vs Man Utd more than once. Then the season he had for Spurs following Italia 90 was just off the scale. An absolute cock of a human being - as evidenced in the ‘91 cup final. But a sensational, genuinely generational talent. He could literally do almost anything (very decent in the air, which gets forgotten). Overrated? Wow… In terms of raw talent - no argument from me. In terms of what he actually became - yes, overrated - he didn’t become what everyone knows he should’ve become. edit: yes, I did see him in B&W Edited October 31, 2025 by TheBrownBottle

But agree he has high degree of athleticism in attributes like stamina, durability/natural fitness, decent agility and strength. Obviously very good technical and mental attributes. One of our best players for sure 👍
NSG
Just realised the Brazil games for the next international break are being played at the Emirates stadium and in Lille, so no long haul flights for Bruno and big Jow.

Newcastle Fan
I echo what i said about him a week back, for someone starting every game for us and Brazil he can't keep having games when he's one of the worst players on the pitch regulary.
