We have an identity separate to that of the rest of the country tbh. Wish we'd lean into that more.

 

The city of Liverpool gets grief for the whole 'scouse not English' shtick and some of it is proper cringe but I really resonate with the sentiment of it but for us. Reflects my own personal attitude towards the England team tbh. Unmitigated apathy.

Thought he was very good today.

 

He enjoyed the extra time and space the switch back to the 6 position allowed him.

 

Also improved our build up play having him there.

 

Hopefully the change can hold up defensively.

 

Midfield balance when we had the ball seemed to work better.

One of his better performances this season. Travelled alot but need to start seeing that in away games and against clubs outside top 6 more regularly.

Could've been Pep putting himself forward for the job if Howe EMBARRASSES us away against Marseille in the Champions League which if it wasn't for Howe we wouldn't be playing in at all

Exactly my thoughts. One of genuinely a handful of central midfielders in the world who has all facets to his game.

 

Add that he’s clearly a mental cunt and loves us and he’s an all timer.

Looked like more of an argument. I did notice Pep going to Tonali with a friendly smile and Graeme Jones was right in there like a jealous boyfriend to break up the chat.

Just occurred to that Pep thing might have been about Bruno wasting time in the first half -- tieing his shoe laces. But that's ridiculuous. It couldn't have been that petty.
