How is Gordon like Owen?

I wouldn’t cry over it like Bruno leaving, but I think it would be a major blow to our attacking quality which would be hard to buy back.

Gordon seems to have an emotions and soul too. He's not just an empty vessel for some football talent DNA like Owen was.

I'd say Tonali's tracking back hasn't stood up that well to scrutiny for large parts of this season, him failing to stay with his man has led to goals and opportunities

I would build a team around players who can play ball tbh. So Miley, Hall, Bruno and Botman should stay (if he’s fit). Everyone else is open to sale at a price for me.

Yeah teams seem to get a lot of joy running off his blind side while he's tracking back, although what I would say in mitigation is that Tonali is often running to the danger (whoever has the ball) so in some situations there's a case that someone else needs to pick up Sandro's job, be that one of the centre backs or a midfielder as he's almost there as the "in emergency break glass" option when we get caught with the full backs high.

So there's an argument that if he stays with his man, someone else will have to commit to the player with the ball, but that's another tactical discussion entirely. I'll forgive him getting drawn to the ball and passed around in the middle of the park for whatever number goal for Barcelona it was last week, he was fucked and we were gone.

Selling Bruno and Tonali to Man Utd seems pretty unlikely.

Winds me up so much that people accept every rumour means someone's "definitely off" And I don't even read the football media.

He may well be, personally I doubt it and certainly hope he's not but the shields gazette is an awful source, right down there with football insider etc. or maybe even worse as the regurgitate from those awful sites too.

I think he was sold a dream when he joined us and it hasn’t materialised due to financial restrictions.

The dream of playing in the Champions League and winning trophies ?

Bruno is our KDB - can't see him leaving - in fact can see him changing position once he loses his legs to the quarterback style - his passing and throughballs for a speedy striker
He is up there with Nobby Solano as those who are adopted Geordies through and through - he's more of a Geordie than Steve Bruce.

Feel like Bruno has that body type that will enable him to play at his current level well into his 30's if he wants to. His motivation will probably go before his legs do.

So we could be looking at selling Tonali, Bruno and Gordon to Man Utd?

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's not some grand plan to devalue our club, making it easier to sell so they can then buy Man Utd.

Bet they wont take Hopkinsfraud with them though.
