It may also well be the case that NUFC are open to selling him. I certainly expect we may lose 2 or 3 'big hitters' this summer.

If so then NUFC are off their fucking rocker.

Can someone link the bit where he ‘clearly wants a move’ and ‘everything is out in the open’?

I’m not a big Twitter follower.

Basing my stance on the original Reuters article. His agents been blabbing his mouth. I think the journalist on said article was the one that broke our talks with Lyon as well?

It was Globo in Brazil who broke our original bid I believe.

Bruno to Man United just feels like a complete non-starter.

Dunno man, I could see another special same with Isak.

Saudis pay daft money for Bruno F whilst we sell them Bruno G.

Ah right, just every page seems like something concrete has been revealed and people have renewed certainty that he wants out.

I think they're completely different characters. I'm not naive enough to think that money can't talk, but I think him and his family do genuinely love the area and the club. He's spoken about his next move potentially being back to Brazil.

Man United have been a basket case until the last few months and don't even have a permanent manager at this point. While they have more chance of delivering a major trophy than we do, they don't have the prestige or guarantee of success that say Real Madrid do.

Even if he wanted one last big pay day, surely our owners can give him a bigger pay day then manchester red if he sticks with us for a couple more years.

Him going there would probably be what finally turns me off modern football, and will instead just enjoy peak A League nonsense

Yeah I wasnt comparing the characters of Bruno and Isak that would be massively disrespectful. I'm more referring to a potential deal structure and one we've obviously seen before as well.

Brunos age and lack of pedigree at knockout CL Might be off putting for clubs which actually befit his ability.

GIve him a new contract and let him see his career out here. He understands the club and the city.

Hes our captain. Hes the one player, where his value as a  top class player, club legend and leader outweights any benefit in selling him.

Hes irreplaceable.

At the end of the day Bruno is 29 later this year so likely has 3 seasons left at CL level.

We won’t be there next year and no guarantee we make it the following year. Can’t blame him for looking to reach his potential but if he goes to Man U it will be grating. I don’t see them much as an improvement on Newcastle.

If we're settling around the 7-9th zone that's more in keeping with our budget, it's hard to argue that Bruno deserves better in both footballing and salary terms. And it's hard not to argue that Man U are looking a much better prospect than us right now.

The athletic today, both Man Utd’s journalist and ours (Waugh) have intimated it’s a new contract ploy

Fair enough really, he's probably only got one big contract left in his career, he'll want to make sure it's a good one.

Just replace him with Miley and get Wharton and Anderson either side.

Obviously I don't want to lose Bruno, but I do think Miley is the obvious long term replacement.

I honestly don’t see the logic in them going for Bruno, he’s a great player but his value to us is so much more than it would be with another club.

I think Man U would be more interested in Palmer this summer and move Fernandes back to the 8, then look at Anderson too.

Give him what he wants. We need a big rebuild over the coming transfer windows and it should all be built around him. He's our most important player by an absolute mile.

Bruno stays. He's just going to get better too.

The biggest shame of those injuries was that he was playing to the level of literally dragging us to points/victories. Scoring crucial goals etc.
