56 years and i've decided this dude's  my favourite ever toon player.

everything - on the pitch, off it, his personality, his commitment, selflessness etc etc

and he lifted a trophy and then swore at the celebrations on the moor.

He's the catalyst for this team - without him they're nothing.

I'm honestly just going to support whatever team he plays for.

Him singing the Tonali song on the moor was the highlight of the whole event.

Thought it was massively evident yesterday how much we'd missed him until he gassed out.

He is an elite progressor of the ball.

By far our best footballer.  Finds a forward pass. Finds players in space.

Its not surprising that until this season we had never won a game of football without him, we've struggled massively this season too. The lynchpin of the entire team on and off the pitch and the personification of NUFC, irreplaceable, it will be a sad, sad day when he leaves. May that be another 10 years or when I die, whichever happens last.

Brings a rare bit of control to our play that no one else does.

Going to be a sad day when he goes

I'm choosing to delude myself that he'll stay until he's 35, pop back over to Brazil for a quick swansong before retiring. Then really leaning into his fishing and coming back to join Mortimer & Whitehouse as a frequent guest

We're basically a one person team if we're honest. Season completely fell apart when he was crocked.

Yeah, he's been a terrible loss to us, unsurprisingly. Especially when you consider he was providing loads of really crucial goals on top of everything else he gives us.

Feels like because it's not been as bad as 23/24, the injury situation has been underrated as an issue this season. As you say, just Bruno's injury alone has been ruinous.

23/34 Bruno barely missed a game and Isak was fit for the majority.

We started and ended the season well for both.

This is definitely not being discussed in the Eddie Howe thread enough, no one player should make a team and a manager should be able to find a way to win with any personnel at his disposal, but it is rather telling in the 12 games Bruno missed we slipped to 3 wins in 12, I don't think it's a coincidence that our poor form coincided with Bruno's injury. He brings so much more than his own ability to the team, he brings leadership, confidence and on field instruction, he drives the team forward and expects more from his team mates, we've missed that as much as his ability on the ball. I also wouldn't be surprised to see us improve over the last 4 games and finish much stronger with him leading the team.

He’s the biggest character and best player - and the only one that can really progress the ball.

Tonali is a great character and plays with authority. But doesn’t have the ability on the ball.

Woltemade has ability on the ball. But doesn’t have the character to demand the ball time and time again.  Doesn’t play with authority.  Manager doesn’t even trust him.

What hurts me is that this was predictable.  A lot of us thought there wasn’t enough football in this squad and cried out for a playmaker and/or another passer.   If we could see it - why couldn’t the club?

Customary mention of Guardiola's record without Rodri before he spent a fortune to overcome it.

Totally agree. The other big loss imho was Miley. Felt a bit like we'd lost two players when he was missing; our best right back this season and also a very dependable midfielder.

We lose that today without Bruno.

If he was to leave this summer, we might as well pack it in and fuck next year off completely.

Thankfully he takes his role seriously and will be here a while longer yet. Toon is life for wor Bruno.
