He had a few "you don't get those at Old Trafford" moments when trying to buy free kicks. Outside of that, he was class, and getting him on the ball 30 yard further up the pitch on a consistent basis means we'll always look more dangerous in attack.

Also, his duel winning ability means he's winning in or on the edge of the final 3rd, which is massive.

this man city fan can hardly contain himself

Very interesting to hear this from a staunch Man City fan, who has been privy to watching some seriously good midfields in recent times.

I posed the question earlier today in a different thread, if we had the best midfield in the Prem.

Not surprised to see others are thinking along the same lines too. Think it will become more of a discussion over the next few months.

It's just such a robust three with a nice variety of elements that compliment each other so well.

Very exciting indeed.

Funny how flabbergasted he is that we aren't further up the league already.

We were just waiting for that final Tonali piece!

It's hard not to get carried away at the minute isn't it, the potential is mind boggling as it's such early days. I think it was you who mentioned big J benefiting as well, I noticed how he is surging forward to support Isak too.

It's funny how these rival clubs fans think they can just come and swipe our best players for under the going valuation, but it seems to be gradually sinking in that they fucking can't ☺️

Injuries though, they lurk around corners don't they, we need to be equipped to cope with worst case scenarios

I just think the potential is undeniable really, and so getting carried away is perfectly understandable! They've only just started playing together and so this should only go from strength to strength.

Fingers crossed, but it's also looking like they are all pretty durable sorts, and so hopefully that remains the case.

I also think that Bunce guy we brought in has made a difference. The squad seems to be in a better place in general injury wise, and we're not seeing as many longer term injuries where we are losing key players for long periods.

Yeah Eddie has intimated that Bunce's input has already had a positive effect on the wellbeing of the squad. He can't do fuck all for Callum, though but

Bruno’s strength on the ball when a player is on his back side is absurd. Never loses it.

shame Liverpool are so far pulled away, we’re a right winger and Botman returning from charging this season if Isak and the midfield stays fit.

If we surprise in Jan and the top 2 falter a bit. Bring it on.
