Tom Williams: Because he's brilliant. He's an absolutely brilliant footballer. He's a very well-rounded central midfield organiser. He's got great feet, he's a brilliant passer of the ball, he's got a great engine, he does pretty much everything you could ask of a deep lying central midfielder. Imagine if he ends up somehow being shit. Well worth listening to to find out more about him and his character. Literally everything about him on and off the pitch is so impressive. Hey @Kid Icarus - what episode was this in? Cheers No worries - I found it, the episode 'Spectacularity' - 38 mins in. Yorkie
That was a cracking goal on the counter, like. Imagine him zipping those high-risk-high-reward ground passes through to Maxi.
relámpago blanco
Can see that working well if we have WIllock running into the box.
SiLvOR
Agree with that ^ We need Shelvey dropping, have Bruno, Joelinton and Willock as the 3 in midfield. Sadly, I can't see Howe dropping Shelvey though. I hope I'm wrong.
Guest reefatoon
Someone mentioned Gayle earlier. Thinking about it, it is the type of through balls that Gayle used to thrive on. He's been going through the motions for years now, but could someone like Bruno ignite something in him again if he got a chance to play?

As good as Wood's stats are in the air, it was actually Barnes who was the battering ram in their partnership. Wood made the runs in behind.

1964
Apparently not in England till Saturday, with jet lag, training time etc. he might not start on tuesday Why it will take 3 days to fly to England is anyone's guess but that's the media narrative

Dr Jinx
I’m fairly sure he’ll come off the bench against Everton. Howe likes to prepare well in advance and uses what he has at his disposal. Could be brought on to see a game out if we are in the lead?

Only question would be whether Gayle is still capable of running onto those type of through balls, not sure if he's still got any sort of pace at all now, since I haven't seen him for about a year. I know he has made the odd fleeting appearance as sub, but didn't really see him then either as he hardly touched the ball.

He might benefit from a little loss of pace, older footballer, wiser footballer? Bruno look like can release him into space quicker than Shelvey ever could, so it shouldn't impact on the overall pace of the attack, but Gayle would have more space and time to compose himself.
