Dan Burn

"Potter’s shape-shifter

Potter regularly switches from one shape to another during the course of a match.

Unsurprisingly, he likes players who are versatile and Burn has proven to be excellent value in that regard.

In fact Burn's flexibility is the primary reason why Potter can mix up formations so frequently.

Whether shifting infield to make up a back three or pushing on in a wing-back role, Burn can seamlessly make transitions to suit match situations."

Been wanting this for a while from us, and was a reason for having Dummett in the squad although Burn probably completely replaces him.

Don't think Howe has any interest but being able to seemlessly transition from a back 3 to a 4 is pretty handy.

Actually proper want him.

Think we'll bring him in tbh, he's not a glamorous signing like Carlos, but he actually has all the attributes which would be really useful, not only immediately, but as a squad player for the next few years. Could be a really shrewd signing and very good value to boot. Think he could turn out to be a fantastic signing actually.

Dan Burn, Burn, Burn, Burn, Burn, Burn, Burn, Burn.

Ellie Goulding, not the most amazing lyricist really.  I think the song's called 'Burn'.

Burn baby burn, disco inferno - classic tune from The Trammps

There is a reference to spunk getting hot that we may wish to rewrite tho

Seems a good offer considering he’s only got 18 months left

They probably figure they could still get close enough to £10m in the summer with a year left on the contract.

You don't think they might get £8m? Is he not that good then?

He'll be 30 with 12 months left of his contract. They'll do well to get £8m, Manu can't get more than £3m for Lingard right now.

I think the other thing to consider is, once it gets to a lowish fee below £6m, then the club might just think for the cost of replacing him, might as well just use him for the final year. I assume they rate him quite highly.
