Again you dont need to play a game to go to your place of work, it was an informal interview no doubt set up by the club. Clearly the lack of 19 year olds is a far more telling fact :lol:

This is a quote from a different article, which suggests this wasn't set-up by the club and that the police were expecting both suspects to be there;

Quote

Police are said to have swooped on a stadium at the weekend but only one player aged 19 was there.

Anyway, this is a grim subject regardless of who the players are employed by.

Of course its a grim subject, didnt think that needed saying just pointing out its fairly common to have them meet at the ground regardless of having a game so wouldnt necessarily mean its not our player

I'm hearing it's Wolves players involved.

They've put out a statement denying it.

"To protect the welfare of our young players, we feel it is necessary to confirm that the allegations to not relate to anyone at Wolves."

Huge game tomorrow, a win over Watford will put them in poll position to be the top team in the bottom half.

For all North east football fans of a certain age, Charlie Hurley was a genuine great player RIP.

Akin to John Mcnamee not very refined but clogged many a centre forward....Sunderland had some good players back then ... Jimmy Monty being my favourite....RIP Charlie...

Sunderland have had some very good players, including defenders who probably deserved legendary status like Dave Watson and Colin Todd.

Difficult to understand why it was a pretty average , renowned clogger who captured their imagination ?  I wonder why ?

Thought it was fairly common for them not to mention goals in games where literally nothing was at stake, even at the top level unless it ends up being a mental game

There's enough evidence that their own fans aren't particularly arsed, so why would the general public care?

Interest in Sunderland - “Can’t somebody else do it?”

A dull end-of-season affair between two mid-table sides was settled by a moment of quality midway through the second half.

Sounds delightful from the Beeb’s match report.
