Staying in the league fine or pushing for play offs fine ?

(I'm not taking the piss BTW)

We won't be anywhere near relegation in my opinion, The leagues much tougher this season though so I think we will be around 8-10th.

I have mentioned in the past that I am happy to attend the SOL and back them, half my family is from county Durham, I could have gone either way as a kid.

RTGs front page has been a great for the last couple of days, while we are discussing travel and hotel plans for the CL, they are desperately scraping round for an unknown prepared to join them.

The greatest asset they have in attracting players is that they can live and socialise in Newcastle. Despite our apparent " sports washing".

The 2 cities should be more or less the same, similar population, similar demographics, similar history of coal and ship building that is now long gone.

But Newcastle reinvented itself, vibrant, positive, it's well know throughout the country as one of the best places to visit for a break, loads to see and do, even fans visiting the SOL for an away game nearly always stay in Newcastle, especially  if the Lemon Tree Inn is fully booked.

There is no hidden reason for this, no back room team of government agents out to put them down at our expense, no sinister plot,

There is a malaise about Sunderland, even their fans admit it from time to time on RTG, turning on the team, leaving the stadium early, the clip of their " city " centre, the casual, endemic racism.

Plus the glass centre, we can't forget the glass centre.

The reasons to be proud of Sunderland thread was a joy.

For us from Newcastle.

We have agreed a deal for a Ukranian Striker called Nazriy Rusyn, It appears it was between us and Donetsk but he's here now for a medical.

We have also apparently agreed a 5 million fee for a playmaker from Lorient called Adil Aouchiche, previously of PSG on a 5 year deal.

Rumours this morning we are also in for a midfelder called Miguel Crespo from Fenerbache, there'll no doubt be others but nothing concrete yet in the media.

As for who we need, a definite number 10, a striker and a holding midfielder I think and we will be fine.

Adil is very good. Prem quality Imo.

Yeah I am surprised he isn't going to someone better than us to be honest, that's if it's true like [emoji38]

I can see it, with the ties you have in France. Also, he's a character. Means he'll join a team you'd think was out of reach of him, but on the flipside he'll get upset at anything and move on.

He's a good flip like. Get him advertised and sell on.

Might be a Michut scenario though where they just feel he’s a bit slight.

either way great signing for you guys and adds some genuine dynamism in the final third.

There's rumours of Michut coming back, Which I dont get at all, I thought he was shite personally.

Nobody seems to know our business mind, Any rumours seem to come through the other club or agents, Seems journalists get nowt anymore.

Right on cue, We're getting someone from PSG at right back to replace Gooch, out of nowhere.

That's funny, You posted on the 31st December that he is shite and worth 1 million at most, Since then, He hasn't played a game and you are saying he's now irreplaceable and 10M is a bad deal for us. You are magic you mind.

Sorry just catching up, [emoji38] bang to rights maybe , you can dress the deal up whatever way you like you will and are missing him and you know it . It's all falling apart [emoji38]

I didn't know you had a heart attack, But i'm pleased to hear that you are on the mend and I hope you get sorted.

I hope it wasn't caused by all that stress talking bollocks about Sunderland :pow:

I live in CLS and also went to PV, left sixth form in 2019. It is about 50-50, though I've seen loads of Newcastle shirts when walking up and down Front Street last couple of weeks.

I'm in the Lambton Arms fairly often as it's around the corner from the train station and my best mate from PV is one of the managers there now, TV flicks on a slide show from current deals on food to a NUFC crest on a black and white background saying "Your home for live NUFC matches".

A town near the banks of the Wear is full of Newcastle fans, they'll be fewmin. They'll never admit it to themselves but the likelihood is they will never catch us up. Must play on their inferiority complex painfully.

 Bless them

Who actually gives a shit, man. Never known a fanbase so obsessed with geography and the fan split in towns than them.

If you're not born in and reside in NE1 or the west end you're not a Geordie. It's Ponteland Airport. The bridges over the Tyne are all in Gateshead, not Newcastle. If you don't reside either north of or on the banks of the Tyne but you support Newcastle United you get outed like a partisan in German occupied Europe. Certain places in the North East are Sunderland 'strongholds' as if they see maps of Tyne & Wear and County Durham as a campaign map from a Total War game. Such odd behaviour.

Since that time, the bar has been desperate to try and frame itself as a more neutral business in the bid to win back customers,

having touched the well known “Durham Mag” sensitivity of Sunderland supporters.

BWAHAHAHA
