Was hoping out of the top 3, Sheffield United wouldn’t be the ones to drop into the play offs. Haven’t watched them much but never been impressed when I have, the Mackems should’ve won with ease at Brammall Lane for example.

Burnley is who I wanted in there - they look like a bastard of a side to beat at that level

No mate that’s very much a mackem thing instead of div’nt. I’ve noticed coastal types say ‘dairn’nt’ and have a softer lilt than Gateshead/Newcastle in general. You can tell a heed accent by the way they say have (hev).

When I moved to N Shields from the mean streets of NE6 I was surprised by the NE29'ers using dain't instead of divn't

Agree. If Sheff Utd end up in the play offs then the Mackems are getting promoted IMO.

This isn't the Sheffield United that has won the most games in the championship this season is it?

I know, seems mad, but I just don’t trust them.

aye it's a giveaway, feels like loads of people have moved here from other local areas, such as myself, or a bit of the tynemouth overspill of people who have came up for uni and stayed here.

Something Newcastle should be doing. Stinking effort so far to implement official supporters clubs. Been “coming soon” on the website for about 18 months.

Must have been reading!

There's a clip on line showing a mackem getting punched from behind off a WBA fan, a proper cowards trick that.

He fell on the ground and it didn't look good, hope he's ok and the WBA prick gets arrested.

Saudi sportwashing thread

That Skylon cunt is as thick as pig shit.  Has no clue who he is supporting as long as it’s by proxy against Newcastle United.

Yep.

"Dain't" - sandy

"Dinnet" - makem

"Divvent" - us.

Seen the Wildhearts a few times in the early-mid 90's at Riverside. Some of the best gigs I've been to.

Was talking about losing your accent at work with a lad from Leeds yesterday.

Only just realised after reading this that I've totally lost 'daint' and just say 'don't' now.
