Actually thought Still would have been a decent appointment for them, seemed to be doing well with a smaller club and got it punching above it's weight. Would have probably done a similar job down there, I think anyone with a bit of a personality and nous would stand a chance of building a bit of momentum and getting them a pop at the play-offs.

Thankfully we'll never know by the sounds of things

31k? Fair play to them.

They haven't. People are assuming that figure because they haven't released the seats that haven't been renewed for sale yet.

I hope he doesn't get booed on Monday man.

.

Plays a great panto villain against Newcastle for obvious reasons but he's a quality player. Seems a funny bloke too.

I actually think it'd hurt the Mackems more than anything if the booing etc became a bit of banter between him and us whenever he played here. They love the fact we hate him, if it became a respect thing where there's a bit stick and a bit of a laugh, they'd hate it.

They did a thread the other day about the four most iconic and memorable players.  Kevin Ball was straight in there.  Its just a given he's in the greatest XI but is iconic and memorablely elite now too.

Debatable whether he could have got a game for a big club. An actual one-off game, not holding down a place which isn't debatable.

It would've been frustrating had they secured William Stilliam, as he'd be a decent coup for their level - emphasised by the fact that a Champions League team from 6 months ago has snatched him at the last minute.

Then again, Still has really landed on his feet hasn't he?   Not sure he's quite deserving of something this good....

It's not debatable at all. He was Kevin Dillon level.

Yeah I'm old enough to remember seeing Ball play and he was never more than a mediocre trier.

Worked hard but was little more than competent. He was a poor man's Lee Clark, who despite being decent would be a ridiculous selection in any of our all-time XIs.

They only rate him because he was good enough to play at their level but too shit to get a bigger move, which they confuse for loyalty because of their constant need to be loved and liked.

Plus as a hard worker who used to put in a few tackles, that also taps into their psyche of judging everyone and everything in terms of how hard they are. This probably stems from them being measurably worse than us at everything for decades and so the concept of being 'hard' is firstly nebulous and unprovable so they can claim a prize that nobody can dispute, but secondly requires no actual on-pitch talent or any requirement for the fans to even turn up and pay to watch matches.

He's perfect for them.

18 months. That's 4 managers long for them.

Or how long it takes to appoint a new manager now.

Same amount of time as knowingly playing a peado.

They want a Chelsea lite, head coach type bloke that will carry out their orders on the pitch with the players they provide
