Not that it’s of any relevance really, but that photo’s from at least two seasons ago.

These FB ‘banter’ pages are terrible for that.

When we've both had home FA Cup 3rd round ties it pretty much goes idenitcally to the season average figures.

26 times out of 29 going back to 1967 we've had the higher gate, often by huge margins (20-30k) and more than double at times.

There's form for getting a bigger gate against non-league teams- 7k more against Hendon in 1974 (and 14k more against H**eford than they got)

*would have been more but sadly they don't always qualify for the 3rd round

I have absolutely no idea what this is? Sunderland residents don’t support Sunderland and they have ST holders from all over the country (who couldn’t make mid week)?

There’s definitely a Carlisle NUFC supporters bus that parks up there every game.

Tbh there’s buses from all over but we don’t seem to have the same obsession with identifying as a ‘branch’.

Aye, seen the Carlisle bus a few times. Seems to be a few coaches from Scotland too. "Parks of Hamilton" and the likes.

The thing I don't get about the attendance thing is why do they make a big deal out of it at all?

I mean, it's Championship football, very few clubs are going to get regular attendances north of 30k and there's no shame in that at all.

This obsession with the figures that clearly bare no resemblance to the actual number of fans in the ground, the mad excuses for having a half-empty stadium - it all just makes what is honestly a perfectly normal situation into something really odd.

What else have they got ? Their attendances are really the only sizeable thing about them. Like us for a good few years.

46 pages and counting on whether the SOL should be extended. This is the best post so far. When they get promoted and compete...compete by Christ. Even talk of when they'll get Champions League. Fuck knows what's in the water over there man.

Their Press Conference attendance is as bad as their match attendance. Sure I read the official Press Attendance was over 20.

Doesn't this make them all plastic fans then as they keep saying anyone who supports Newcastle but isn't from within the City walls is a "plastic jawdee"?

Or do they conveniently forget that here?

For some reason the poster has omitted the words "want to" from the middle of that sentence

This is taken from a PL fan survey done about 20 years ago (hence the teams involved), but unless there’s been mass migration from the Sunderland area in those 20 years, the above statement, unsurprisingly, appears to be absolute bollocks.

Thought "amount of local fans" was an interesting rabbit hole, this was the most up to date statistic I could find for the PL:
