It’s glorious what’s happened in the 8 years since our promotion. They mocked us for going down, told us to “enjoy Burton - away”, then got relegated twice in a row (by Burton - away) spending four years in division 3. They’ve lost play off finals, got taught a lesson by us in the cup, featured in a Netflix series which made them a national laughing stock, were owned by the don and have become a very distant memory to the cognoscenti of the ever evolving Premier League. Everything they tried to convince themselves was not going to happen is slowly, one by one, happening. We weren’t gonna get a takeover, no good players would sign for us, Eddie Howe wasn’t good enough and we wouldn’t stay up, we wouldn't get into Europe, we wouldn’t win in Europe, we wouldn’t get to a final, we wouldn’t win a cup. The dominoes are falling Mackems. Your house of (season) cards is ablaze and stood atop its ashes is a boot.
