Have watched a fair bit of the Champo this season, for my sins

My take on the runners and riders:

Leeds – Clearly a cut above in the Champo; might survive in the PL, but it’ll be very tough
Burnley – Haven't seen much of them, but solid defensively at this level, which potentially gives them a platform to build on. Highly likely they'll get relegated
Sheff Utd – Inconsistent; might have whalloped Bristol in the semis but nailed on to go straight back down if promoted
Makems – Looked really good early season but dogshit for last few months; would get annihilated most weeks in the PL
Coventry – Woeful, can create chances at this level but finishing was dogshit. Similar standard to the Makems
Bristol City – Rancid

“Solid defensively at this level” might be a tad understated for a team absolutely smashed every defensive record going.

There are only four adjectives that can ever be applied to a defence: Solid or weak. Watertight or leaky

Anything else is just hyperbole

Only caught the last 20 mins of normal time and then the extra time.

Coventry were absolutely in the ascendancy until the last 15 mins when they ran out of legs. Sunderland were woeful up to that point. I'm not from the NE so the rivalry means very little to me so I feel I can watch it a bit more objectively.

And objectively they were rubbish until the Cov players died on their feet.

All three of which will be totally and utterly dismantled in both their back yards and fortress St. James' when they come up against Newcastle United.

Arrogant as it may sound I don't even think the derbies would be "big" games for us if they came up, in the context that we will have many more important games to play next season.

In fact the derbies would just become a distraction to more important matters, would hardly raise an eyebrow if we win them but a shock win for them would be shouted about for ever.

If I was a fan of any other club I would be desperate for them to win the final over Sheffield Utd mind. Narrative wise they are far more interesting addition to the PL.

Alas I have to stan the Blades.

Never want to play them again!

Never hear the end of it if they beat us - one off game anything can happen - They’d probably take 3 points all season and be happy if they were from us -  sad twats!

God love 'em.... or something. The day after his team get to the play-off final at Wembo, ending an almost 50 year chin-based curse, the first thing that Marra does is phone Talksh*te to talk about us, and how we're gonna collapse and turn on the manager, etc.

Yep.... rent free.

We are their absolute world.

We’re going to have a massive collapse…………apparently!

Fuck me, that's twice in the last two videos featuring Simon Jordan that I've seen where I agree with pretty much everything he's said :anguish:

Some unsurprising delewsion on show from a couple of the mackem callers... it sounds like - in the minds of a fair few of them - they're already up. Not like them to get ahead of themselves 🤔
