deejeck
"The mags don't have our global appeal and are a smaller club than us. They'll never be famous for being perpetually shite on worldwide TV and floundering in the third tier of English football for umpteen years. They can only dream of being co-owned by a useless, upper-class tory ponce who wears red trousers and fancies himself as a DJ".
Sibierski
Xhaka is surely a walking red card when it comes to the derby? Him v Bruno/Joelinton is ending in a red for one of them

I mean it has to be a wind up. Regardless of lifestyle opportunities, regional capital vs whatever they are, do you want to join a club in the same part of the world which has finished 4th, 7th and 5th in the last three seasons, won a major trophy last year and will play in the Champions League, or one which has finished 26th, 36th, and 24th (in the English leagues) and had a recent documentary on Netflix? Only taking a 2 year deal (Might be option for 3rd) when he's already contracted to 2028. Must just want to come back to Prem badly and Sunderland only club that will pay the fee for a 33yr old. Wallsendmag
Good signing for them I suppose. Will be interesting to see how he gets on playing in a team that's chasing the ball rather than dominating it like he's used to, especially at his age but in reality he's one of, of not the biggest name signing they've made in their entire history so fair play to them for showing some ambition. Again though, it makes it all the more strange all those NUFC fans who were desperate for them to come back up "to get the derby back". Personally found it funnier when they were in the lower leagues signing absolute nobodies for £250,000.

TheInfiniteOdyssey
Great signing for them, adds steel and quality in a key position. Would have him here for sure. If they do go down, they’ll probably be in a right mess PSR-wise.

But those two games 50years ago and legends like Ball and Kay must have struck a chord with people globally in a different way to clubs that have spent most of the last 50years outside the top division and offering nothing when in it and having no identity or icons in other countries do with us Edited July 28, 2025 by Jonas
