Looks like their support are not happy with the season ticket prices and 'rules' (ones who pay anyway). Has their kids prices just about doubled now? If that's the case they will need more school, university and workplace canvassing

Adam Johnson has put his name forward for canvassing the schools.

I was doing a job around the back of their place today.

I know I keep on saying how stadiums of Sunderland’s age will soon need to start major renovation, but fuck me it’s looking like it does for them.

The roof is filthy. It and the cantilever beams could all do with a repaint.

You have air vents with slats missing.

It also amazes me that for a relatively new stadium, it has absolutely no facilities built into it. Staff offices, and the club store/ticket office are all in a building of their own in the car park.

If you owned them, and had money, you’d be looking at replacing the stadium stand by stand to be honest. Vastly outdated, and it’s not 30 years old yet.

The football coaching department was housed in that building too which made even less sense. I've seen Bob Murray himself have to walk over for some reason at times. One time he walked right past my boots that I'd left outside (by the van we were getting in or something) and he looked at them in disgust as I was going back out to them.

Should have organised the stadium build better the miserable c*nt.

Initial cost when it was first built was only £15m. Cost a further £7m to extend it from its original 42k capacity to over 48k. It's looking very dated now mind and hasn't aged well at all.

It is. It makes me glad that we never did build John Halls Leazes Park stadium.

If we did, I think it would have been only a little better than the flat packs we see from that era, and would have been an early version of the Emirates which is lacking in facilities compared to the likes of Spurs.

Agree it was a miserable era for new builds. Mackems, Boro, Stoke, Derby etc all look so bland and dated now. Very little imagination went into building them. Boro and Derby are identical other than the seat colours.

Seriously, nearly 200 posts since 6.15pm.

They know more about the move and Leazes Park than I do. They can't believe the park will be lost and it's not going to be built on The Town Moor apparently. Mental.

Getting their public objections ready, are they?

Bloody hell, they're going radge about our proposed new stadium.  🤣😅😆

As with everything else, their hated rivals building an even bigger stadium to make even more money than them, is a win for them.

"The only downside" is that they wont get concerts but another lad reckons they'll be okay because they'll just expand and said expansion will "pay back quickly"- despite filling their ground since the last expansion 25years ago about 5% of the time.

"Lovely stuff, more of their history destroyed and uprooted, all for a shiny new toy" - obviously that wasn't the case when they moved districts

Does that Bear lad get anything from posting there in a sort of ‘grrr you lot’ ruffled and grudging but ultimately affable manner? It seems like such a needy way to spend one’s time. Does he want to be liked by mackems?
