Whatever the new badge is I wonder if they'll make the 'I' and 'T' in United easier for the manufacturers to separate as I think every kit provider we've had has had an issue with it in at least one kit.

I hope they don't go with a magpie on the new badge. I wont be able to wear it. I can wear this seasons 3rd shirt because it has two magpies on it. If I want to wear an early 80s Umbro shirt, I would have to wear the shorts as well to ensure there is a second magpie present.

Hopefully I'll be able to get this across to the powers that be tomorrow.

What they should do to make everyone more people happy and make their lives easier is have someone touch up the current one so it has the right amount of detail and scales well, and then also introduce a simplified one that could play off one of the 70s/80s ones, use a Magpie, etc. The new shirts can have the new one, but they can still use the old one where it makes sense or to sell "retro" things. 

 

Liverpool created a new one but their old one isn't completely gone and they also have the This is Anfield one that has elements of both.

I've changed my position on this over the week tbh, now interested to see what they do and not so arsed about changing it. I got a bit of grief for saying this a year or two ago but got to get rid of those fucking seahorses man  civic centre, city crest, don't care. They're fucking stupid  I reckon it's one of the first things the chairman will have said, "wtf are they doing on the badge"

 

Please don't do a new one but keep the seahorses

I like our badge and I know the seahorses are there because it's based on the city coat of arms and Newcastle being a maritime city and all that...but having a magpie on the badge actually makes more sense, it's more related to the club itself.

Maybe thats the impetus for the whole thing. Charlene in marketing just cannit get Corel Draw to scale the logo without it going to shit so we're ripping it up and starting again.
