Our players may not be the most gifted, but it is so refreshing to have players who seem like honest pros. Like Hayden yesterday saying he had a bad day at the office, and Lascelles saying it was his fault Abraham got in despite the heroics, its the most likeable squad we've had in a long time.

All thanks to Rafa's background checks on each player before he signs them.

Aye. Doubt we'll see ginge in the team for a while as well. No matter how much we can argue about one player being good enough et cetera et cetera, but these lads will always give 100% every game while wearing the shirt and it was only 18 months ago when we had a squad that didn't. All down to Rafa, that.

Newcastle United’s squad is valued at £147million, according to new stats from the CIES Observatory – a football think tank based in Switzerland.

CIES place United’s squad as the 25th most expensive in Europe – but only the 11th in the Premier League, behind the likes of Crystal Palace, Leicester and West Ham. The data is based on fees spent on the squad to assemble it.

Apparently our pitch is the same size or bigger then the so called massive pitch at Wembley.

It's absolutely huge when you step onto it like. I was buckled after just one burst forward from midfield when NO played at SJP a few years back.
