In an alternative universe, where Newcastle won the league in the 1995/1996 season, where would we be as a club now?

I’ve thought that many a time.

Surely one would think we’d have continued challenging?

Perhaps not. Maybe we’d have continued on our downward spiral?

I reckon we'd have become a club which regularly wins things, an Arsenal maybe....or

We win the league that year,  Shearer is added to a team which now know how it's done - we win back to back titles.

Keegan stays on and we have further success in the Cups, maybe a European trophy.

England comes calling for Kev and we turn to Sir Bobby - as a few more years have passed,  he feels he has honoured his obligations to Barcelona and delights in taking over at his hometown club. And he takes over a team that hasn't been ruined by two meddling pricks - Keegan's all conquering side only needs tinkering with, so we go on to even more success,  a couple more cups and maybe another league title.

By the mid 2000's, Bobby is thinking of retirement,  so sets in place the hunt for his successor.  He remembers how highly he regarded his former translator at Barca who has just sensationally won the Champions league with Porto.

We beat Chelsea to Mourinhos signature- after all we are the top club here and a much bigger draw than them.

More success follows,  more titles and another European trophy.

2008/9 season now and Mourinho gets itchy feet,  hands his notice in, and we look to Liverpool's manager, currently embroiled in wrangling behind the scenes with his club's American owners.

Rafa Benitez agrees to join us after honouring his contract with the reds. Mike Ashley's tenure is cut short and he sells up due to a concerted effort from the fans, appalled that such a scum bag is at the helm of our club. Rafa gets on fine with our new wealthy Arab owners.

Rafa is still here to this day, trophy after trophy is added to the cabinet and the ground is finally increased in size to 60000 capacity.

Apparently as the box office uses a premium rate 084 number for a customer service line it’s illegal and we can claim our call costs back.

I'd imagine they'd probably get round it via:

Exceptions to the rules

Premium rate numbers are still allowed for sales lines and pre-sales enquiries. However, the cost of calling such numbers must be clearly advertised wherever they are published.

Paid-for services that aren't part of an existing contract – such as technical helplines or information lines – are still allowed to use premium rate numbers.

Just had a hospital appointment for a routine check up related to my heart condition.

My Dr notices my NUFC tattoo on my upper arm, starts asking if we are close to signing everyone (but it’s obvious he’s been paying attention during the day in anyway). Turns out his season ticket is close to mine, we spend more time talking about NUFC than we do talking about me.

This is what is good about the club, just people coming together even in not the best circumstances and enjoying talking about NUFC (even if we are going through a bad time).

This is why we need Ashley out, people like him will never understand what football means to people, and they are happy to go along and destroy that.

Completely torn about the Arsenal home game. It's probably the only game I'm gonna be back home for this season, and very likely my only chance to see a Rafa led Newcastle ever again.

So on that side, I wanna go.  But giving money to Ashley :anguish: If I was still living at home I'd have jacked in my ST and probably gone to the cheaper friendly only, but now spending like 90 quid for 2 tickets is gonna be my only option. ffs, genuinely don't know what to do

i'd have him in our squad this season tbh [emoji38]

Maybe he's so passed it that he's actually in orbit - otherwise, definitely not, he's not been canny poor for a few years now.

Wish we got to see him here around 2011/12 though, big fan of his.

It's the law that if you mention Berbatov you have to call him a languid player.
