I am starting to think we won’t be getting an amazing training/academy facility like the top clubs(& Leicester city) have.

With the PIF constantly investing in our old facilities. I think we are staying put at Benton :(

£1m is nothing in the grand scheme of things, so I don't think it signals anything. I do wish we'd get some news though.

Nah, this is just to keep the current facilities ticking over and doing enough now to attract decent youth prospects.

I didn't realize but at least nine and potentially ten of our next fifteen matches are evening kickoffs, UK time. One of the others is a 5:30 kickoff UK time. Only four games out of fifteen confirmed in a 2pm/3pm slot.

Sounds pretty tough for away fans. I'm nine hours ahead of GMT, so lots of very early mornings for me. On the upside, I don't associate evening kickoffs with our worst performances.

“I reckon there’s something special about being Newcastle’s number nine,” Crouch said

“Whenever I go up there, I feel like it’s a football city and when I think of the old centre forwards that have played well for Newcastle, you’re like the hero, aren’t you? If I had scored goals for Newcastle… Even the music before the game they play up at Newcastle.

“I’ve always enjoyed playing as an away player there. They understand football. They live and breathe it. If I had gone in just after that Alan Shearer phase, I would have been at a good age then, but these things don’t work out.

“It’s all hypothetical, but if I had to pick one club to play for, it would have been Newcastle.”

We currently have one player on 9 goals all comps (Nick), and three on 7 (Gordon, Bruno, Barnes).

Last season only one player made it to double figures (Isak). The two seasons before that three each year (Isak x 2, Wilson x 2, Gordon x 1, Miggy x 1).

Decent chance of four players ending the season on double figures (maybe Wissa could be a candidate too)- wonder when the last time that was in top flight.

edit: I didn't check all seasons, just some I thought candidates. I think it would be 01/02 when Shearer, Bellamy, Nobby and Robert all reached double figs. (Did in first champ season - Carroll, Shola, Nolan, Lovenkrands)
