Time to give Ramsdale a chance after last night.

Might seem knee jerk, but had little to do apart from picking the ball out three times, and seeing that 3rd again, if he dives, he has a chance at saving it.

I really don’t understand him getting shit? It always looks bad when keepers don’t dive. But genuine reasons for the 1st and 3rd and he’s getting nowhere near either.

First one Gravelbag shut his foot on the ball late if you’re being kind. Scuffed it if you’re not. It goes through Bruno’s legs and then Schar waves a leg at it too. Pope is half shifting the other way and it is post and in down low, regardless. Never getting there.

Second he has no chance. Again low into that bottom corner. Post and in.

Third he is coming back across goal and the lad whips it into the inside of the side netting back into the corner he is moving away from, from about 12 yards out. I suppose if you’re being really critical he could rush out to close the space down. But that probably would have gone even worse for him.

Yes his kicking is crap. Have a dig at that by all means and maybe Ramsdale improves the team there. But no keeper is saving any of those finishes last night.

Only issue with Pope last night is what we all know, kicking awful.

Said in match thread, there was an instance in first half where he was holding onto the ball too long, referee told him and instead of placing ball down flat calmly, just dropped it and it was a bouncing ball that he was then under pressure to kick :D Just baffling stuff.

He just has no calmness in those situations and our players know it by not using him as a passing outlet when under pressure as we also saw. They’d rather try a pass inside, or get half a yard on pressing attacker to clear it, instead of passing back, in fear his first touch if he feels he needs to control could bounce to the attacker.

Sometimes, I wonder what people expect from the goalkeeper and have they actually played football? If you think Pope is at fault, then maybe look in the mirror and you will find the real issue.

That we never reached out potential as a goalkeeper and now spend our time on forums instead?

All of your post is complete nonsense. Pope was not at fault for any of their goals. But then you just have to mention his kicking because that suits your agenda. He actually assisted a goal last night with his kicking.

Huh? I’m not saying he was at fault for any of them :D Just if people are moaning about Pope last night, it should be for his kicking only that we all know anyway that was only issue.

But it's becoming extremely boring. After a defeat or poor performance the Pope kicking gets mentioned. It's absolute nonsense. Some fans just don't like him like yourself. However, he is a very very good goalkeeper whether you accept that fact or not.

The guff you post about Bruno, you have the audacity to criticise people who have a go at Pope's kicking.

Fucking hell.

I might be wrong. But I don’t think he was being sarcastic. He’s American for a start

But of course. You’ve got your back up and you’re looking for an argument.
