Aye, seems very odd in hindsight. I was certain we'd go again, simply due to how far below their valuation we were.

I said very early, unless we had some insider knowledge. These bids were crazy low.  NO told me it was the art of negotiation.

The nearer it gets to the close of the transfer window, the more knackers will be whinging on, on Twatter! I’m confident we’ll get players in where we need, but have been a bit baffled by some of these ‘bids’ if totally true that is.

He is available, Leicester have never said he isn’t. We just weren’t willing to pay the asking price.

Who knows what we really bid tbh but clearly the club has a set amount of cash that they can spend and there are several positions that we need to strengthen.  Maybe it was also to test Leicesters resolve, as they do need to sell in order to buy.  Also maybe they were hoping to turn Maddisons head so he would ask for the move.
