It is clear to see where we are heading. Top 4 will be a game changer though if we can find some way of sustaining top 4. It will just make our recruitment that much easier and likely fire us up a bracket of potential signings to where we were expecting to be. It is a BIG ask to stay top 4 though imo. Think the first couple of times Howe brought Anderson on it was to play in midfield. After that there was a long period where he was injured/not involved and that was when he got some minutes on the wing. If I had to say I think Howe sees Anderson as more of an attacking midfielder than a winger.
sushimonster85
Where did Anderson actually play for Bristol Rovers? In my head I have always had him pegged as a wide attacking player, but seen people suggesting he is more of a CM than I may have originally thought. Kid Icarus
He played as a LW in (I think) a
Smal
From what I've seen of him for NUFC he looks like he should be a #10 rather than a CM. He has the work rate, but he's probably not safe enough with the ball to play deeper yet.
Whitley mag
Kone, Caicedo, Rice and Bellingham 4 top class midfielders, we need to get hold of one of these in the summer if we get into the CL.
SUPERTOON
No chance we get Rice or Bellingham, we aren’t going to start paying those type of wages in the summer.

Many more could make that list, who would also improve us. But I agree, and think we will undoubtedly strengthen that position. Here’s hoping we have the draw of, and prospective money, fromChampions League football.
Dr Jinx
After seeing the level of respect between Rice and our players yesterday and even Howe name checking him in the post match interview, I’m 100% convinced the courtship has begun with this one. Sempiternal
Can find a player like Rice abroad, let Man U or similar pay an exorbitant fee for him. Look at what caicedo has done at Brighton. I’d much rather pick someone up for a lesser fee and use the money elsewhere
Tisd09
I really like Rice just think his price tag will be too hefty for us at this stage. Would really be a massive signing for us though. Seems a decent fella and model pro to.
Sempiternal
I would prefer a Tchouameni type, over Rice. Not him Obvs but in that mould and I do think you can find them.
Dr Jinx
I noticed yesterday that Rice wins most of the 50/50 challenges he’s in and has excellent anticipation of where the ball will be. Bit like Bruno in that regard. He’s an excellent player.. not sure who makes way for him though? As in lineup, formation etc.

Not sure we have £100m for one player quite yet though. Edited February 5, 2023 by AyeDubbleYoo

Gallowgate Toon
Rice seems very built to a counter attacking side, to me I think we've seen with England that when he's in a possession team he lacks range and sometimes seems to play within himself. Very energetic for when games are more stretched though. I think Bruno does the defensive side just as well while also providing excellent possession and final third characteristics.
