The Football Association has charged former Sutton keeper Wayne Shaw with breaching betting rules after he ate a pie in the FA Cup loss to Arsenal.

Shaw resigned after being seen eating the pie during February's fifth-round defeat, after a bookmaker had offered 8/1 odds on him doing so.

The 45-year-old has been charged with intentionally influencing a football betting market, and improper conduct.

On that basis, are they going to charge John Terry as well, then??

Utterly ridiculous. If he doesn't eat a pie, he's still "influencing" the market, just in favour of the bookies rather than the punters.

It should be the bookies that are told they can't pull ridiculous stunts like this with these bullshit markets rather than this silly fat pudding being raked over the coals.

Agree with that last paragraph.
