We NEED to find a way of getting the German 50+1 rule in the English game.

a lovely idea but in no way possible why in gods name would the likes of the glazers, the city owners or frankly any premier league or championship club owner ever agree to that, they ain't in it for the good of the game they're in it to profit from the premier league tv deal or soften the image of a country and they couldn't care less about the fans beyond their roles as customers

Obviously you can't just force it, but you can find ways to facilitate that doesn't just descend into confiscations.

Potentially mandate a the sale of minor stakes for fans in each club within x years, a proportion that slowly grows over time, as well as a "right of first refusal" for fan groups - if a team is up for sale and an offer is accepted, fan groups have first dibs to buy a stake pro rated at the purchase price if they can stump up the money.

Are Sky the single worst thing associated with modern football? Racist fans, then them, imo. So much that's crap about modern football can be attributed to them in one way or another. I was gonna say maybe betting, but Sky have got a massive betting enterprise of their own so they can't be trumped by that.

Racism appeared a tad worse a few years ago so wouldn't associate that with modern football. Placid tourists more like these days.

Sky has brought mass amounts of football to the people and we've lapped it up. Still fucking hate them but that's consumerism for ya.

Epitomises the "jobs for the boys" network that seems to be prevalent in the media nowadays.

Anyone who has had the misfortune of being subjected to his ramblings can immediately see how ill fitted he is to media work (Especially spoken word).

Inarticulate, contradictory, pre-teen like grammar & a shocking paucity of knowledge on football considering his background.

Add that to impression he gives of being a weapons grade bell end then I would suggest this news should be celebrated.

The Ligue 1 derby between Nice and Marseille was suspended on Wednesday following homophobic chants from a section of the fans.

Players from both teams were escorted from the pitch midway through the first half of the contest following repeated appeals to stop the chanting.

The game, which was 0-0 at the time, resumed after a 10-minute delay.

Referees in France have been instructed to stop matches if homophobic songs are heard.

There were also reports of homophobic banners in the stands.

Reminds me of the ‘Guti maricon’ chants in Spain at almost every away stadium he played in.

Sunderland pinched the tune for Cattermole, probably not knowing what it meant.
