130 was always the fee we set, it was inevitable they met it.

As I put numerous times, our failure was to plan for it rapidly and also not changing our stance to actually get more but for a smaller fee. 130m is not as good as 110 plus 1 or 2 players that were proposed, this would essentially have made the fee more towards 160. Instead we have taken an amount where we dont see it all due to PSR and spend circa 50% of it on a player who is far below what we had in the door.

Alex had made it abundently clear, he wasnt returning to play for EH, he was sitting out until January. Id much rather have seen 110 today and curtis jones / harvey elliott signing along with a prospect we could have worked with or even joe gomez as cover and added depth.

What does ‘player's ‘loyalty’ bonus negotiated out of deal’ mean?

can’t find OG post and can’t get on twitter

Means we don't pay him his loyalty bonus and liverpool get it knocked off the fee.

Most modern contracts have a bonus payable when a player is sold or the contract expires, but it is voided if the player officially asks to leave.

Either they forced him to submit him a formal transfer request before they would approve the deal (Mike Ashley did the same thing to Carroll before he stuck him on the helicopter to Scouser Town) or Isak agreed to waive it.

Their player must want to come as well. And I doubt that unless you're talking about second stringers like Tsimikas or Endo.

 i wonder if there's some sly fox of a cunt at FSG who looked at our lack of leadership structure and realized they could fuck our pre-and-start of season - and possibly whole season - by kicking all this off, regardless of actual outcome.
