How about this. We get Sesko and Wissa.

Well agree to Isak going for 130+ Elliot and them not signing Guehi, in writing, or they pay us another 20m.

I don't want him to go there at any price. We'll never catch them and you can't really put a price on that.

Can’t believe people thought he was potentially staying. He’s burnt his bridges and we can’t afford to have a mega asset just sitting sulking on the bench, he will definitely go.

That's not really how sports works though. It's "what have you done for me lately" and if comes in and scores a goal we'll have forgotten all of this. Sure, you might remember and grumble, but all the club will see is a goal and hopefully 3 points, and at the end of the day that's what the fans want to see too.

The only thing that matters at all when it comes to players in sports is production on the field. Even the off field asshole rapist shit only really matters to a team when it starts making them miss games, or disturbs the other players enough to negatively impact their performances, or disrupts ticket sales (which it almost never does).

The world of sports has a rich history of felons and cunts winning championships and being celebrated until the very moment they stop winning. Then they get fucked, but who cares - is the new guy winning?

It's a terrible message to sell your best players to your rivals. Even Daniel Levy who is a confirmed money grubber refused to do that with Kane.

After the utterly cynical and concerted media campaign by paid shill "reporters", Sky and pundits, the determined effort to unsettle him and then the inevitable low-ball derisory offer, I would not even pick up the phone from these cunts ever again. They have made it clear that while they'll happily spend 200m on unproven in the PL talent, they won't pay the going rate for a top 3 striker in the world, so as not to finance us any more than they need to. Very blatant, very obvious.

Would not sell to them at any price, don't fucking care what they offer, 150m plus fucking add-ons, shove it up your arse "la".

I think the whole football reportage on Twitter might have jumped the shark this summer. I know times change, but I think I preferred the days of a radio update or a small blurb on nufc.com—even a yellow ticker update on Sky Sports when they had video of a medical or a plane landing. I don't think straining over every fiber of a deal is worth it when you know it's all access journalism or client journalism masquerading as story telling.

It's the methadone approach to fandom. I think cold turkey is the way. I'll wait for a title change here or a notification from the club app going forward.

Feels to me like we're pandering to the player and Liverpool with how fast we have tabled a bid for Sesko that is more than likely to be accepted if it hasn't been already.

Just want us to get our deals done, close the window and we can go back to football, knowing our place like Villa know theirs while the darlings of the league have the biggest and best squads which no one else is allowed to have. Thrilling.

We needed a striker in asap regardless. Isak has had no preseason and Wilson is gone. Suggesting we shouldn't pander to them by waiting longer is self harming.

It's amazing how many people here seem ok or at least resigned with selling to Liverpool. I'm just glad that they're not running the club.

If we sell at any price that is not absurd, then it is a massive slap in the face for all of us. And they are runing the club negligently.

Yes. And I hope those who are running the club have more backbone and enough self respect to tell Liverpool not to bother picking up the phone again.

No chance I'd sell to another PL club

It's a mentality problem that's been driven into our, and every other clubs/fans heads for years.

Liverpool want Isak and Ekitike? "Real statement of Intent"

Newcastle want Sesko and keep hold of Isak "surely he's a replacement since Liverpool want Isak"

Everyone outside of the big 6 are "reactive" in their moves. Surely Newcastle don't have the audacity to actually want to BUILD on their squad?

No, Liverpool have pointed out Isak for their special, divinely appointed project, and now Newcastle need to ask them to please be patient while we try to find a replacement first... sick of it.

And you listen to Downie and Hope, and again it's just assumed we're going let Isak go if we get Sesko. As if it's the only possible scenario.

And maybe they're right, but I have a little bit of hope that PIF don't and aren't thinking like that. We're not just trying to solve the Isak "problem" and that were actively looking to make a statement. Time will tell

This sorry saga only seemed to start when we showed interest in HE. Do we think that the club already knew that Isak wanted to go which is why we were looking to sign HE as his replacement, but didn’t want to acknowledge this to the scousers or anyone else as it’d weaken our hand?

I’m not sure if my mate in the police is winding me up, but apparently the club have asked the police to support them in requesting a reduction in allocation to Liverpool fans for our match against them because of ‘an increased threat in supporter clashes’.

It seems like the club is that pissed off with Liverpool, that we are going to make everything difficult for them.

No. I think something we’re all unaware of happened to trigger this reaction.

The timing doesn’t really make sense. If Isak was desperate to leave, he pushes this earlier in the window to include Arsenal and Liverpool (pre-HE).

I suspect contract negotiations didn’t go well… but that is just guess work.
