I know times change, but I think I preferred the days of a radio update or a small blurb on nufc.com—even a yellow ticker update on Sky Sports when they had video of a medical or a plane landing. I don't think straining over every fiber of a deal is worth it when you know it's all access journalism or client journalism masquerading as story telling. It's the methadone approach to fandom. "Real statement of Intent" Newcastle want Sesko and keep hold of Isak "surely he's a replacement since Liverpool want Isak" Everyone outside of the big 6 are "reactive" in their moves. Surely Newcastle don't have the audacity to actually want to BUILD on their squad? No, Liverpool have pointed out Isak for their special, divinely appointed project, and now Newcastle need to ask them to please be patient while we try to find a replacement first... sick of it. And you listen to Downie and Hope, and again it's just assumed we're going let Isak go if we get Sesko. As if it's the only possible scenario. And maybe they're right, but I have a little bit of hope that PIF don't and aren't thinking like that. It seems like the club is that pissed off with Liverpool, that we are going to make everything difficult for them. No. I think something we’re all unaware of happened to trigger this reaction. The timing doesn’t really make sense. If Isak was desperate to leave, he pushes this earlier in the window to include Arsenal and Liverpool (pre-HE). I suspect contract negotiations didn’t go well… but that is just guess work.
