You can never say never, but I would be fucking gobsmacked if the Saudis would allow the optic of being bullied into selling Isak happen.

Take PSR out the equation and John fucking Henry hasn’t got a pot to piss in compared to PIF.

Eddie and Yasir will tell these scouse cunts to do one and today’s antics won’t be forgotten. The scouse media are in full swing and I’ve got a feeling we’ll come out swinging.

It’s going to be funny when the Saudi’s find their way into the NFL to be honest.

The only way we could be bullied is if the player agitates.

Cant see that happening he stayed loyal to Sociedad and never agitated for a move. He’ll get a new contract to justify the price tag this summer, hopefully any release clause is 200 million and 300 million if your names Liverpool.

So how could anyone bully us ?

The new contract tract could be an issue depending on any  clauses.

It’s all about can we pay him 200k plus per week and comply with PSR. I’ve got no doubt there will be a release clause, it’s to be hoped it leaves the door open to only the likes of PSG and Madrid.

Seen a few videos saying Liverpool are pulling a power move by approaching us for Isak and threatening that they'll bid for Ekitike if we reject the bid.

Can someone explain the logic to me on how it's a power move? If any of it is real, it's just them bidding for their first choice and moving on to their second choice if they can't get their first choice...? Only that they are revealing to us for some reason who they are interested in to give us a chance to act quicker and more decisive to get our target ahead of them?

That tweet has highlighted one of my biggest pet peeves of transfer nonsense. People and "journalists" in particular struggling to understand the concept of conversion rates.

Seen the same in the Ekitike thread. People saying "just pay the €86m release clause they want etc." clearly getting their pounds and euros mixed up.

True. It would still end up with us having the better striker.

That said, there could be some logic behind them taking away our long term replacement, assuming Isak leaves next summer anyway to somewhere like Barca.

Yeah we can (I think), if he extends his contract then the amortisation process starts a fresh from the remainder over the new term.

So for example if there was 20mill left over 2yrs (10mill per year)and he extended for another 3 that then it becomes 20mill over 5yrs so 4mill per year. So that remainder could be used on his wages.

I think.

Ive had this exact conversation 3 times today

If Isak were at Villa and Liverpool.bid and were told to sod off, they'd go (if the rumours are true) for Ekitike. Not because we are after him but because hes the next best thing to Isak of that style of player.

Today has brought the worst out of journalists, mind. Pure click merchants - in Plettenberg's case, at least pick a semi-realistic fake price!

Entitled pricks Liverpool can simply get fucked tbh. He's ours, you go and buy the unproven PL striker if you want.

Exactly this. Completely upto him. And I think he’ll stay.

Would be delighted to get another season out of him and then he gets a move to Barca or someone next season. I can not wish him well if he goes to that horrible club Liverpool.

It is a cult, not a football club. Followed by a bunch of plastic, out of town, candle lighting, black armband donning cunts.

I'm seriously starting to dislike that Plattenburg nonce.

Another bum who has no idea what's really happening but feels compelled to tweet something to make it seem like he's tracking it all step by step.

It must be the easiest job in the world, in fact, I'll show you:

"Alexander Isak 🇸🇪 remains the #1 target for Liverpool 🔴 valued at 100-120m 💰

Discussions at an early stage between #LFC and #NUFC as the Reds are preparing to submit an initial, official enquiry.

NUFC ️ don't want to lose their star man as they persue Hugo Ekitike 🇫🇷 from #SGE 🇩🇪 "

I mean it doesn't make him an arsehole but he probably will right? They will be offering to triple his current salary at least + able to boast to being the current league champions + the increased chances of achieving more honours for him both collectively and individually at this moment in time.

I just hope it's not this summer and he gives us his best for another year and if we can't challenge them this year or close the gap, and he hasn't signed a new deal then we agree that he can go next summer for the right price.

Selling this summer for us would be massively counter productive and essentially takes major steps backwards and I think we slip back into the pack of chasing teams rather than leading from the front of them.

I swear man, if Saudis come in and buy Nunez for an inflated price I’m going to find it very hard to follow football in the same way I have done most of my life

We all know that is exactly what’s going to happen, and I feel the same way. It’s borderline cheating

Agree mate, it’s football, huge wages and the chance to win stuff will often sway players. I guess if he decides he wants to go this summer then we say fair enough but it’ll cost north of 150m.  Like you I think he’ll probably stay this season and go next summer, everything so far indicates that he has a fair bit of respect for the club and likes it here, the fans etc. But you never know, it’s down to him at the end of the day.
