The only thing that’s giving me pause is Howe’s comments after Celtic. He was unequivocal about Isak being a good egg. I reckon he’d be a lot more measured if it was kicking off behind closed doors.

You really can’t to be going on a promotional pre-season tour without one of your superstar draws, it really doesn’t make any sense does it….

I disagree. He should absolutely be in charge of players the we bring in. He's the manager and the one who works with them every day. Not to mention the fact that we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. It's pure guesswork

Hard disagree here. Manager should not be in charge of recruitment. Sure he is a key voice at the table, but managers often miss the bigger picture. A strong  recruitment team is needed to avoid the MUFC mess of ETH recruiting for him and now Amorim having a squad useless to him.

Well he's in charge of transfers now How's that working out for him?

What if his valuations are wrong ? Or hes too invested in certain players so wont move on to other options ? Or has a very small pool that he'll pick from?

All allegations laid at us so far with some evidence l.

My point of view on this is I can't blame Isak for leaving. He can earn 300k a week and more elsewhere and he deserves it. He will be winning trophies every season and competing for the major honours and rightly so.

If we can't offer him that then we sell for a big profit and move on with good PSR wiggle room. The only painful thing is seeing him at another Premier League club.

Eitherway the club needs to sort this out ASAP and get a replacement sorted with no fucking around. And as soon as this transfer window closes we need a complete overhaul of how we do business because we're a total shambles in the transfer market and it isn't good enough for a club at our level. We're in the Champions League, Bruno called for squad improvements at the end of the season and they've totally let the fans and players down massively so far.

What’s Yasir had to say about this? If it is about a new contract; let’s get it done, same if he wants away. If he’s injured, we need yet another look at our medical team and also confirmation if he was advised against travelling.

Say he does want to leave. What's the play?

Ask him to stay on another year and in return we don't price him out of a move next summer?

Tell him the price we have ie 130m for overseas clubs. And we won't sell to an epl team and he's welcome to leave once the terms are met.

It's none negotiable as far as we are concerned.

I agree, it's not the player its the system.

Someone needs to take the PL to task over anti competitive behaviour, it's that simple otherwise this shit will continue to happen.

If not then we can all just continue to bend over and lube up for the cartel.

is it really good to the team to bow down and give him 300k now? Basically it’s like telling the other purple patches to do the same and you will get a pay rise

ah think it's probably a massive overreaction to this news

he is quite injury prone so could well carrying an injury and needs more rest time

with all the speculation it was probably thought that on balance he'd be better off not travelling to rest up

his agent probably is driving a lot of this speculation

to bd fair they wouldn't be doing a good job if they weren't trying to get a significantly better deal for a player who's become the most sought after striker in world football

in any case, Yasir will have final say if he stays or goes, and there's no way he'd be allowed to go without a decent replacement lined up

I'll politely disagree. If the manager doesn't rate a player that's recommended, it creates a strange situation.

I understand the importance of the scouting infrastructure, but ultimately, it should always be down to the manager.

We cant let him leave this summer regardless imo, there is no way we would adequately replace him now.

A manager should specify the type of player he wants to sign. A team should then go and find a pool of players who match the profile and work with the manager on narrowing that down. Then it should be on the recruitment team to handle all of the negotiations.

If Yasir is going to do anything to mend the situation, he can get one of his sock puppet clubs in Saudi to chuck us 200m for him.

If Isak doesn't want to play for us anymore so be it, but he can not be sold to the dippers under any circumstances, let him rot in the reserves if needs be.

I agree with your first point, he has a strong voice at the table, but he cant have complete control.  Going back to my first example, that's where you get the antony at united for £80m situation

That was the idea with Mitchell.
