Well we hold all the power. Depends if we decide we’d rather have some money than an unhappy player I guess.

Obviously the player normally gets what he wants, but we’re potentially talking about a good CL campaign plus a top 5 finish vs battling for Europa League, so it’s a very important decision.

We don’t, and that’s the problem.  We have the power to reduce a potential £150m asset into a -£15m or so one out of spite.  So yes, we could get him rotting in the reserves, but that’s it - the club has little power once a player wants to go.  It becomes a case of how much can you get for him?

We need to do what Parish did, set a monstrous fee like £180m minimum. Then Isak can't complain we are holding him back.

Sesko would be a massive disappointment. Bang average in a weaker league.

I mean he’s 22 and would be same age Isak was when he joined here after just scoring 6 season before.

Pair him alongside someone experienced like Watkins, the burden is eased first season.

Got to admit it's annoying the way we've allowed him and his agent to basically shape the narrative when the club has huge power here given his 3 years remaining on his contract.

The club is devoid of leadership. Absolute rudderless ship.

Yes what PIF should do is a bit of light kidnapping and torturing until our wantaway striker decides to stay...

What exactly do you want PIF to do in this situation?

A player wants to go, they go.

Use their vast wealth and ‘political’ power - make it clear they won’t deal/trade with Liverpool or the ESL clubs. Complain to the PL about Liverpool tapping the player up. Offer Isak a bumper deal? Start becoming a nuisance in regards PSR constraints. Make it clear to the player he’s under contact and won’t be leaving this summer. Anything they can do is better than nothing.

Supported the club since 93 when i was a little kid. This club really is a roller coaster isn't it? I'm laughing but i'm also depressed at the same time about it at this moment.

By which time I'd already had 25 years under my belt.

Depends if you think he’ll never play again if he stays. I don’t think that would happen, he would sulk for a bit and then come back in.

It won’t happen like but I would love to see the club flex its muscles a bit.

Nothing wrong with someone exploring options. If he gets an offer from someone that is better than we can/want to offer, they offer us a fee we are willing to accept and he wants to leave then good bye, good luck and thanks for the good times.

With how the last few windows have gone, until the rules changes, it almost feels necessary to make a huge, albeit unpopular, sale in order to have the leeway within psr for us to be able to spend what is required to take the next step.

May as well be someone who wants away. Gutted, but can’t blame him. If he wants away then so long it’s been a joy to have you play for us. The concern is how we would spend any money given the snails pace we move at. Cluster fuck upstairs atm this. We signed Wissa yet? [emoji38]

Good to see Waugh and George breaking more stories, they are right on the bleeding edge of all things NUFC.

I hope nobody is actually paying for the athletic

It's blatantly obvious that since Staveley left they've got no real insiders at the club

very fucking depressing, really deflating. I went into this wondow with such optomism and thats been slowly drained out of me, culminating in this latest fiasco.

Club's being ran so poorly, and the board need to really look inwards at who's to blame on this I think.

This summer could derail the entire project and could be defining to the history of the club for the next decade plus. It starts with Isak, then its Tonali, and Bruno and Gordon, and before you know it its a full squad rebuild and were back into Mid table mediocrity...

Mistakes have been made, but it’s really poor from Isak too. If this was his stance, communicate it internally at the end of the season and allow us to strategise with the money. It could have made a huge difference in nabbing some of the targets we missed. Trafford would already be done

Considering our chairman said he wants us to be No.1, I'll be questioning PIFs involvement in our project. Selling to a direct rival...C'mon man. We've got all the tools to play hard so fucking do it.

If some rumours (Hardy) are to be believed, PIF-owned Al Hilal are offering him 500k a week. Tells us everything we need to know.

At least we won a trophy.
