That's true, but when part of the motivation is financial, and we're hamstrung, I can't see how thats fixed. I could be wrong.

Not going to watch the video but the optics of selling Isak to Liverpool are terrible and I don't see how that is really arguable on any level.  Would be preferable to sell abroad next summer for a lower fee.

Yeah, we should look for players such as Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Sven Botman, Joelinton, Isak. But sadly we never sign these players.

The project as sold was dead the moment the other clubs got together to hold us down. Hanging on to players who want to leave won't make a difference.

 

For my part im just enjoying what we are doing with what we got. It's going better than it has for a couple of decades.

They will be if our owners adopt the victim role like you. Liverpool can't force us to sell, it's as simple as that. If they want Isak they will have to pay a figure which would suit us not them. He's still got 3 years left on his contract, and I don't see us backing down to the red wankers.

Selling Isak will not be a disaster if we play it right. The last thing we want to do is sell to one of our rivals, but if they pay a massive premium and we maximise his fee, we can use that money to buy 2-3 top class players to replace him. 

 

If we play this right, there's no way we come out losers, I don't care what the social media narrative is. We hold the whip hand here, not Liverpool or Isak.

I agree, they cant force us to sell. Which is why we shouldn't be selling at all, unless its something truly incredible.  And £150m isnt incredible, its simply his true value. £200m would be in the "incredible" realm.

 

We are obviously fishing for Sesko whilst knowing that the dippers are now busy getting shot of Diaz and Nunez so that they can get their bid. And I bet its not £150m up front.

 

The only scenario I can see now where Isak stays is if we only have Wissa as our striker.

No idea if this is possible; but he’s away, if not this summer then in either of the next 2 windows. So we’re guaranteed a hefty fee. Could we not keep Isak this summer but still buy Wissa, Sesko, the CB we need etc and then flog Isak abroad in the next two windows if only Liverpool seem to be in interested and have the potential to afford him? 
 

Let Isak rot in the reserves for all I care in mean time. He’s burned his bridges and can get to fuck. But we absolutely cannot sell him to Liverpool or any other PL club. The message it’d send would be absolutely appalling.
