Brilliant if true. What a fuckin idiot he's acted. Bizarrely waited until most teams had bought a striker to decide he wants to go.

I despise Liverpool's tactics when signing a player.

According to Ryder, they have representatives with the squad in Korea. To get decisions out of Saudi

Lee Ryder also said Ramsdale was off to Korea for his medical. A few hours later he was pictured at Darsley Park.

Pinch of salt and all that.

Would love to believe that. But it won't be true.

Not unless we really have given a truly fuck off number to them and they were just chancing their arm.

There's also a theory this was all designed to lay the ground work for a bid next summer and also to derail our summer and unsettle our best player.

Also would give a bit of a "we tried" vibe to Isak and their fans.

But no doubts they will be back in for him this window.

As long as this club continues to be owned by PIF, the wealthiest ownership in world football, virtually everyone here expects this club to become a PL- and CL-title contender.

Ok, on that basis unless something drastically changes that isn't possible.

As I've said, the gap isn't closing financially and without getting to at least parity we are food.

Well if thats the case then he stays. No way we should let him go anywhere near $110m.

I have no problem letting players go myself, but getting bullied to sell at a lower value? As I said before, rather let him rot on the bench if need be.

There it is again, the notion that we come to Liverpool, cap in hand, "we'll gladly take your offer that's way under market value, thanks so much for considering us, almighty ones". Fuck off. Change our stance and contact them ffs.

I'm not saying we accept it today and move on... I'm saying we can't let the whole thing drag on into late in the window.

Its 2 weeks before season kicks off with premium targets already moved on. Obviously its my own perception here but its already too late in the window to do this deal unless it's crazy money which sounds like right now its not.

Barca and Madrid are logically the only clubs that are not stepping stones. But the snide way the player downs tools and the "bigger" club can use their hooks in the media to negotiate the move pre-bid has to be nipped in the bud. We're like all but two teams are a stepping stone, sure. But we can show we're not fucking mugs at least.

Really hope when they bid, they got a fax back simply with the second word "off" and the first word "fuck".

I'd have had a dirty protest on their offer, scanned it and then faxed it back.

 It would be hilarious if I wasn't terrified. TERRIFIED that we're gonna do exactly that.

If this is true, they're either angling for him to put in a transfer request or they're hoping they've made such s mess that we come back accepting their shit offer.

David Hopkinson came in and said enough of this nonsense.

(in my head, anyway)

Be interesting to see how Isak reacts to this. Personally think even if he banged in 20 goals for us next season the cunt would still not get the support from the vast majority

When he walks out in the back and white stripes he'll get plenty of support. It won't stop people knowing he's a sneaky little fucka though.

That’s a good argument! Because it’s predicated on sustained success (i.e. CL qualification every season), it’s risky though…if we were competing with only 3-4 other clubs for CL qualification, it’d be easier to take a flyer on someone like Watkins, who would give us enough to qualify each season but not bring much re-sale value.

But we’re realistically competing against what, 8-9 other clubs for 4-5 CL slots? What might’ve been a CL-caliber season a decade ago won’t necessarily cut it now.

Not sure,  points required wise, about the last bit. Though I understand it is a bit of a risk to spend big chunks on players who we may get very little back for. Thing is though this is mitigated by likelihood of other purples choosing to jump ship (or being pushed…) if we don’t continue to have successful seasons.
