Skeletor
Aye but Southampton were basically Liverpool's bitch in those days.

Emotic
Waiting for the Romano tweet claiming that Liverpool will sign Sesko unless we let them buy Isak for 110 million pounds (no add-ons).
LaurentRobert
What makes the lowball offer even more insulting is that Liverpool have been practically telling the whole world how loaded they are this summer. Tons of news articles in the vein of "we broke the British transfer record for Wirtz but can still afford to spunk another £500m and be PSR compliant"
Haz
However it hangs, this behaviour cannot be rewarded. His only redemption would be (if he stays) for the club to say promises were made and he felt fucked over, but its all cool now. That’s not gonna happen. LaurentRobert
I feel the timing of this offer is very deliberate. Liverpool know that Newcastle will resume training back in Benton on the Monday/Tuesday By putting a lowball bid in before the squad returns (knowing it would be rejected) under the bullshit pretence that it's their final offer, it sets the scene for Isak's absence to cause maximum impact. Liverpool have most likely pre-orchestrated with Isak that he, as well as handing in a transfer request, doesn't report for training. Cue all Liverpool's media mates spewing stories about how the situation is now "untenable", "toxic" and that there's "no way back for Isak" etc. All in the hope that by ramping up this narrative it forces Newcastle to pick up the phone again, and thus with little leverage to seal a deal beyond the already tabled £110m. I really hope well tell them to fuck off. Edited August 2, 2025 by LaurentRobert

Miercoles
My hunch is that this whole thing goes nowhere, he shows up, trains, has a normal season etc. At the end of the day he'll want to show well to justify a high salary on his next contract. Mattoon
Certainly feels like we've weathered the storm here, it was patently obvious that the scousers didn't have the brass to make this happen so they've tried every dirty trick in the book to devalue the deal and get him on the cheap, but we're not Ashley's NUFC anymore, we're not Southampton and you don't sell the family jewels for pennies when you want to be the best. I hope Isak sees how much we and Liverpool value him and makes the right choice and knuckles down.
Heron
Eddie Howe man 🤍 Really hope we act like nowt happened, sign a few players, come out really fired up and stuff Liverpool, have a mint season then fuck Isak off the second the season finishes. Would be tough to get them to agree to it I guess but basically a section saying (in simple terms) "if you aren't where you should be for a period of more than 24hrs, you won't be paid for any of that time". That's just covered as standard in any employment contract and under law.
