If we don't have the money to give isak what can we do?

He should be more professional whilst under a long term contract,

Could've had a word with howe and let us know he'll give us one more season then he's gone.

He can’t win mind  he said today sources in club have said they think Isak should go and everyone on here is like why’s he revealed that? The sources should be sacked Then when he sits on something it’s he’s never said it before.

Journalists are habitual liars, it’s as simple as that

Same as me with all that shite about my lass and the gym instructor, this news might shock people, but it’s completely fabricated because it gets me some engagement

Heard tonight that he’s 100% away to Liverpool regardless of who we bring in. Happy days

Under what terms? Is it because Howe has basically said there’s no way back? Or is it all because of how Isak is carrying on? And any idea on valuation? Feel like £150m has just been accepted in the media as our desired amount without any indication that it actually is

As the majority owners, of course, it’s their responsibility to make sure the managerial/administrative structure is there to do what it’s supposed to do. And they’ve royally fucked that up.

100% I was more responding to the idea that they've lost interest or dont know what to do.

Other owners may have a blue print of how they want to operate ie club runs on its own revenue, buy young sell high etc.

I think PIF are probably saying, we want to be #1 and will spend whatevers necessary, but they need someone to actually drive that part of it. And they've not done their part putting those people in place. Or atleast replacing them

Wouldn't surprise me at all. I think their was a general feeling among some of the board that the Howe Staveley alliance held too much power. Its why I think Ashworth probably left, and why when Eales brought in Mitchell, Howe came out publicly with that power move when the team was in pre-season in I think Germany. I am convinced that If Howe had failed last season, Eales and Mitchell were ready to give him the boot and get someone who would work within their structure.

Howe obviously delivered the greatest season arguably in the last 70 years, cementing himself as the most popular man at the club, and that with combination of Eales (sadly) getting ill meant Mitchell knew it was pointless to continue. And now we have the void left that we are currently dealing with.

Very good summary

What is the point of this if you don’t say where you heard it from?

source close to the club? Staff? Player? Streetwalker in the area?

I definitely knew my lass was banging her gym instructor for the best part of a year, that why I paid for her to have a pair of falsies, bought her a Range Rover Evoque, let her rack up thirty grand of credit card debt in my name and took us on an all inclusive holiday to Gran Canaria for some winter sun

Did she take all the furniture?

Sesko would have at least been a statement signing and something for the club to rally around, but now that we've apparently moved on to Jackson, it begs the question: why are we dealing with Isak as though we have no control over the situation, or in Seinfeld terms as though we have no hand.

We're surely at the point where we should concede defeat and tell Isak he is staying for another season, but we don't seem to regard that as an option. Beyond financial considerations, it suggests a complete breakdown in the relationship between him and the club, either because of his poor behaviour or because he feels somehow vindicated, presumably because we've failed or reneged when it comes to contract promises or allowing him a big move.

Some people have talked about us forging a siege mentality this season in light of what's gone on this summer. If Liverpool screwed us and Isak by signing Ekitike, then he could still play a part in that but we just seem to be sheepishly moving from one possible replacement to the next.

Yea, this is what doesn't make sense to me.

I could understand if Isak had a year left on his contract. And we couldn't risk him walking away for free.

Or if we were up against PSR, and needed cash money to fill gaps in the squad.

But from what we've been lead to beleive, we have room to bring in another striker with or without Isaks departure, and also build on the squad.

Isak is also an asset who given his age, position, and consistent record in the league, will basically hold his value barring some catastrophic injury.

Theirs zero reason to bend to the pressure outside of the fact that maybe we just can't manage the headache or dont want to.

And if that's the case, we need to toughen up, as these kind of high profile sagas are part of life if you want to compete at the highest level

I'd rather he rotted in the reserves than we sell to Liverpool.  Want the club to come out of this with a little  self respect - we sell to Liverpool we have none.

And as far as value, he is the best asset we could possibly hope for.

I think giving in and selling him for a cut price is worse than cutting off our nose. It's sticking our dick in a fan and hoping for the best.

Think the club's got enough to deal with without another off-field scandal. Just ask coloccini how that (allegedly) turned out for him.
