I’ve changed my mind a few times on this but now I wish we’d have got Sesko. With Wissa to come in as well it would have lifted the cloud that is over the club.  We could have also focused on fine tuning the squad with another CM

Instead now it’s more time of the shite that surrounds this and the club being unsettled

Yeah I actually think it helps that he doesn't seem to care that much. I think his reserved personality has meant fans have hesitated to really embrace him like with Bruno, but that means once he's realised that he's here for another year he'll just get on with it with a view to leaving next summer.

I agree to an extent but I also think it fades with each signing. The pressure comes off further if we get wissa in the door this coming week.

According to Ryder (I know but he hasn’t been that bad this summer).  Isak was offered an olive branch to come back in for these friendlies but his reaction forced Howe to take him out of the picture all together.  very telling that

Edwards is really tripling down on his story so you'd think that Jamie Rueben must be his source. I do believe that the club have had this exact conversation with Isak but I also suspect that the player believes the club are bluffing so that they get a premium price for him.

 

We really need to hope that the owners aren't swayed by any bid, even if its the full £150m. And even if we get two strikers in.

Yeah I think they fucked up by signing Ekitike. Looks like they're worried about not getting Isak so have went for Wissa as a cheaper alternative and he might be too far along the line with us for it to happen. Not that that's stopped things already this summer.

I really don't think so. If we'd gotten JP or Ekitike/Sesko, we wouldn't have gone for Wissa. We only went for Wissa after Ekitike turned us down. Then, when Wissa looked iffy (Brentfords high demand £50m) we went for Sesko.

The reason Isak's acting up is because the club told Liverpool and Isak's people he's not for sale this summer.

 

So, he's trying to force our hand by causing trouble. Edwards is right, the club told Isak he's staying and won't be sold to Liverpool. Why else would he do this? Why would Isak rebel if it was about us getting a replacement or Liverpool ponying up £150m.

 

This is why i feel If we had JP or Sesko or Wissa, we'd know we could start the season with a decent forward, whilst dealing with Isak.

Again based on what Isak's doing and Romano's vague stuff, Isak was told he's not going anywhere this summer since Liverpool asked about his availability (the informal offer) hence why he through a hissy fit and got sent home from the Celtic game.

 

Eddie's not gonna say Isak's not for sale until the board says it, right? He'd look dumb if he said it, and then Isak was gone two weeks later. So don't take Eddie's words at face value, he's just playing it safe.

 

For now, we can assume Isak's been told he's staying put.

Still think if we keep him to September he’ll sign a new contract and be a good boy. If the scousers don’t offer 150 we need to hold our nerve, even if they offer that change the goal posts and ask for more.

So you’d have to think that even the owners haven’t truly made up their mind what to do about Isak. And it’s this indecision and lack of leadership which is killing us and making us a laughing stock.

I can understand that. He has been expecting a move to Liverpool for months, but now he knows it’s completely dead. 
 

As said before, Liverpool knows the chance of getting Isak is close to zero now and they started to panic already. Their plan is to get two strikers this window and if Isak is completed banned by PIF they need to find a replacement asap, same as us. I won’t be surprised if they are going to contact Chelsea for NJ 

 

They won’t come back for Isak. Isak has simply no choice left but he is still refusing to accept it
