What do people think the realistic outcome of this is going to be then?

I've been convinced he goes ever since it all came out

But it seems another day is going to tick by without anything happening and we genuinely don't seem like we will move on the price we want...

Maybes Isak will escalate it and refuse to go into train on his own or summit

I think we get replacements in and Isak goes, probably for less than £150m, possibly close to that with add ons.

Aye it's put a massive downer on this season starting for me as well

I think we will be alright as long as Eddie Howe is still here. But its nowhere near the kick on year we thought it could be

I think he stays but get a guarantee of a transfer next summer.

Isak has demonstrated he'll willingly behave like an absolute c*nt and ruin squad cohesion, so still think Liverpool will be back with £130m or so and we'll accept.

His reputation amongst all fans other than the Scouse is in the gutter now. He'll probably stay, and find himself a club overseas next season now.

None of our viable replacements are left to sign. Pedro and Delap's strikes against Milan and Ekitike's against Palace showed how good our potential replacements are. We can't just substitute these with someone we haven't scouted properly. No margin for error.

He'll have a sit down with Eddie and Bruno and work it out.  Transfer next summer.

Guessing it will have to take Bruno going to social media and plead the case for Isak 'get behind him' etc etc.

I think we go for Jackson and then let Isak go. Liverpool will bid around £130m with £10m add ons

While I may not fully agree with this stance, I think Howe places a strong emphasis on maintaining unity within the squad and would be willing to let him go, even at a slight discount, provided we can bring in a suitable replacement in time.

In contrast, my sense (and I’m only inferring here) is that the ownership see this as a serious optics issue. Giving in to his demands and allowing Liverpool to dictate terms would signal weakness, so they are standing firm on principle, and rightly so imo.

We can't or simply won't do that though unless we sign 2 strikers before Sept 1 which feels unlikely right now

we cannot accept any fee under our valuation. You can't allow another club, an agent or a player royally trying to take the piss and let them then get away with it. I keep saying you don't take the piss out of the Saudis

This. Wouldn’t surprise me if PIF just straight up slap a perma ban on the move whilst he’s under contract with us for the disrespectful way they’ve gone about things.

Jackson is the player I really, really don't want. Maybe Eddie would do something with him, but I've seen nothing to give me encouragement at the sort of fee Chelsea would demand.

That's what I think too.

Howe would rather take his chances with a "lesser" player who is fully committed than an elite player who has already mentally checked out (assuming that is the case).

The club/board want to appear "strong" and don't want to appear to cave to the sort of behaviour we've seen from Liverpool, Isak and his agent.

I may be in the minority here, but for the right price I don’t really care if he signs for Liverpool and we use the money to get another decent striker in. They aren’t our rivals and unfortunately it seems we’re not allowed to compete with them anyway, plus I’m all for giving them and Isak stick when they play us - all for a bit of spice here, which we’d miss if he plays abroad.

Would be funny seeing him in our reserves mind.

My view on Pards is yeah, he was mostly crap, but we've have enough even worse managers (Souness, Kinnear, McClaren, Bruce) that he ends up looking not so bad in comparison, and did at least provide some some good moments (finishing 5th, some memorable wins) and some funny moments (getting in fights with people), and at least seems proud of his association with us.

The widely reported price is £150m isn't it, and they came in £40m short. Imagine bidding £10m on a player worth £50m and then complaining about getting short shrift

Probably more like bidding £55m for a £75m rated player, but yeah, ridiculous if they thought that was a good opening offer.
