You'd still have to pay him. Very grey area as if we don't pay him he could argue that's breach of contract. I haven't seen a professional footballers contract though

Pretty sure it doesn’t specify it’s OK to down tools with 3 years left mind.

It’s weird. The more him and his agent behave like complete bellends the more I want to keep the cunt to prove a point

I was kind of expecting something like this after the slight narrative shift yesterday. Proper last roll of the dice stuff. I don’t see how this most recent very public paddy changes anything from our side though - no acceptable bid and no replacements mean he’s not going anywhere.

Not if he's refusing to play it isn't, he's the one doing a breach of contract

Weve actually played this well. The more time goes on, the more its clear to everyone who the bad guy is.

The negativity towards him in the press has dialled up loads recently.

You would need to pay him if he was on gardening leave, you wouldn’t need to pay him if he decided he wasn’t showing up for work and went AWOL.

I would like to see an £130 million bid come in from a Saudi club now and we turn it down publicly stating it doesn’t meet our valuation.

Just to reinforce our position to the vultures circling.

If its not to Liverpool, id accept the same price Liverpool offered to any other club outside the PL. Id snap your hands up for 130m to Saudi.

Given that clearly orchestrated press release from Isak's agent to Ornstein. I'm excepting a £120m bid from Liverpool at some point in the next day or so, its really transparent.

More media noise, you just know he'll stay, refuse to play and then the narrative will change to Newcastle won't let him train, they're ruining his career. A world where you can state whatever you want as fact and then state something different straight after. Who knows what the truth is in all this, Eddie seems to be the only person I can listen to as I feel like he believes in himself and the club enough to know we will keep moving forward whatever happens so has less of an agenda.

Sign another forward and we still go into the season with team where I can compare it with any other premier league team and go I still wouldn't swap our fullbacks, midfield 3 and wingers for anyone else.

Isak will always be remembered for this, and I can't see how comments like he would refuse to play won't affect his career going forward, why would anyone show any loyalty to someone who doesn't know the word himself.

If he is refusing to play then that is a clear breach of contract, he should be held accountable, not paid and put on gardening leave without wages for the remaining 3 years.

The FA, Premier league, Uefa and Fifa should be 100% behind us on this or there would be the potential for the whole system to breakdown and people walk out on contracts left, right and center and while clubs are investing millions in players the while house of cards will fall down and clubs go tits up

don't get me wrong the whole system is way out of control and the money involved stupid but you can't have one person smash the while thing up because he has spat his dummy out, any reforms would have to be agreed on by the whole football network or it would be chaos.
