Such an easy win for the new CEO/SD (if they ever arrive) to come in and get a resolution to this that gets El Råtta back in the squad. I’m still bewing him, like.

There’s no path back for him for me. Can’t wait to boo the lad when he’s gone. While he plays for us I’ll just grimace and shake my head but when he’s gone I’m going to tear into him like I’ve never torn into a player before

Meh, if he starts scoring goals I’ll forget all about this until he pisses me off again next summer.

The fact Kane did similar and ended up playing two more years, Suarez at Liverpool had his best season after a summer like this, Rooney tried to jump ship to Man City then ended up staying seven years or something shows there’s hope. Would be interesting to hear if they ever got back to the same level of adulation as pre-agitation, though. Seems impossible to me.

But we aren't a soulless club.

There is absolutely a way back for Isak.  Football fans, Newcastle fans included, have short memories.

Also the internet/social media/X isn’t  really reflective of our matchday support remember.  A significant portion of our fans will not have been following this saga in the same way many of our very online fans have.

Eddie stood with his arm around his shoulder, some statement of commitment and most importantly goals then fans mindsets will very quickly shift.  I now see this as the most likely outcome - but what do I know.

I suspect also the levels of constant daily social media involvement are much higher now. They'll have still been the dominant stories of the day but it won't have been as constant.

Might make future players think twice about going down this route.

Not sure I can, any time he puts in a bad performance or gets an injury in back of my mind I’ll be wondering if it’s genuine

I think Isak is different to them though. Suarez and Rooney for example were both full throttle win at all costs attitude type of players who are always going to give 100% no matter what.

Isak is nothing like that and never will be. If he did play for us again it's highly likely we will get the Isak from the back end of last season where we all presumed he was playing so badly because he was injured. He just isn't wired like Rooney and Suarez .

I'd be happy enough with Wissa and Samu and him gone even though, to confess, I know literally nothing about Samu other than he seems a raw talent.

Instead, it's more likely that Isak can and should be reintegrated once the transfer window SLAMS SHUT. He'll need to earn his fee for when he hopefully moves to PSG next year and I don't have to think of him again.

Except when Joelinton boots him in the clockweights when we play PSG in Europe, which would get a bigger cheer than any of his goals while he still plays for us.

He's not going to put himself in the shop window playing like that it is only a detriment to himself. That makes no sense whatsoever.

Agreed. Any which way you look at it he’s been very very poorly advised. The worm is starting to turn though, everyday more and more commentators are voicing their opinion that he is making himself look a total cunt. His agent is also inadvertently casting the spotlight on himself, his reputation and his previous dodgy activities.

Personally I’d like to see the door shut on him but it would be highly unpalatable to not have at least someone in as his replacement - whether or not he’s ready now or not. Samu ticks all the boxes for me - think the lad will just score goals wherever he goes. Ramos would also be acceptable.

Samu for me. Him and Wissa for Isak/Wilson.

"I've had a great relationship with him, you need that partnership with every player. I have to work really closely with the player for his benefit, to try and improve them. I always want to be there for him.

"I don't think Isak would have done as well without that, his team mates, the supporters - he recognises that, he's an intelligent person."

This sounds quite conciliatory in tone IMO. Or the beginning of conciliatory at least.

Where is this from?  Eddie's press conference?
